"You want them? Fine. Here." Her hand suddenly slipped downward, making Curtis gasp softly. "Stop…" With a strange sound, several glass beads rolled out from his pants. One brushed past my cheek, making me feel nauseous. "Ms. May, you're so mean," Curtis said, squirming awkwardly. Curtis straightened his pants, pretending to be embarrassed, then looked at me.

I leaned my head slightly against Archer's shoulder and said, "I trust you. Let's spend the rest of our lives together as happily as possible." Curtis went back home, feeling lost and miserable. The iron door creaked loudly behind him. Brenda was crouched over on the ground, sorting through the food and supplies they had. She got to her feet when she heard the noise behind her. Her hair was still dripping with sweat as she smiled gently at Curtis and welcomed him home. "Curt! It's been a windy day outside the base, hasn't it? I made some cream of mushroom soup—" Curtis suddenly grabbed her hard by the shoulders, his knuckles turning white.

****** Curtis stared at the screen for several moments while standing outside the house. This was the third time she had called him within a relatively short period. He released a frustrated breath before finally accepting the call. Less than thirty minutes later, he found himself standing beside a quiet roadside where Lauren waited near her vehicle. The car's hood was raised. Its hazard lights flashed intermittently. Lauren stood nearby with her arms folded tightly around herself. The moment she saw him approaching, relief immediately spread across her face. "You shouldn't be calling anytime you like." Curtis said, standing before Lauren, unhappy. "What if Tessa had noticed it was you?"

“You look like you’ve been dragged to hell, and even hell didn’t want ya and sent you packin’.” “That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me,” I tease, rolling my eyes. “You’re a real southern gentleman, Curtis.” He waves me off with one of his huge, calloused hands. Curtis is average height and portly, but his strength is truly incredible. His stained white shirt is coated in sweat while he yanks and fumbles with the chainsaw, mumbling curses under his breath. I find his company comforting in a way I can’t explain. “Are there… big animals out here?”

Stephen kept his sharp, cold eyes trained on Curtis. The latter didn't cower in fear at all. Instead, he met Stephen's gaze impatiently. "Sir, what do you want from me? "I heard that you're quite close to Conan." "Oh, you must be talking about that idiot." Curtis explained nonchalantly, "He's richer than the other kids, not to mention more gullible as well. I tend to ask for pocket money whenever I feel like it, if you get what I mean."

The member list in the channel was painfully clear, showing only four avatars: my father, my mother, my brother, and Bella. My brother, Enzo, replied a moment later, "Just the four of us. No doubt due to his two-pack-a-day habit lubricated by bourbon.

Soon, the waiters began serving dishes and drinks one after another. Calvin got up to pour drinks and serve dishes for them. The two children had endless topics to chat about and got along exceptionally well. The adults didn't disturb them. Margot knew that Curtis couldn't eat much, so she made his dishes lighter. Tommy and Calvin didn't know that Curtis was ill, so they poured him beer. Little did they know that Curtis would reject them. "You two drink. Curtis has quit drinking." Tommy didn't know why this big CEO had to quit drinking. He smiled and said, "Can't you at least drink a small cup for a toast? Just one."

Curtis sipped the wine again, rising from the seat and getting for himself a glass of icy water from the fridge. While he returned to his seat, Susan was still looking at him and every move he made. “I know your business is getting tough, but,….” She paused and walked to the fridge to get both of them some desserts, fruity podding. “I am stuffed.” Curtis sighed and only drank his water.
