Flipping to the back section, which dealt with magic other than spells, she was pleased to find she had opened to the exact page she was seeking—the beginning of a chapter about dreams. She wondered if it had been luck or magic that had guided her to this page. She closed the book and then carefully re-opened it to a spot she thought was much closer to the back. She was only mildly surprised when she found herself looking at the same page as a moment before. It was magic, all right. Somehow, the book was sensing what she wanted and neatly providing it for her. Wondering what else this amazing book could do, Leesa began to read.

I turned to the next page. "Given to… What?!" I turned the page back and forth. What was going on? There was no continuation. I looked at the spine carefully and saw that there was a bit of torn paper. A page was missing! Someone had ripped out the page! I was frantic. I was this close to finding the solution to our problem and now, it had been ripped away from my fingers like candy that had been snatched from a baby. I closed the book and sat up on my bed.

The page was written in a different language than the previous page. Letters moved across the page. They changed order; they were glowing now. Words could be seen on alchemist's face. He moved closer. On the spine of the book, a gap opened. The gap was getting bigger. “I know, what this is,” the alchemist said. “It's a portal. The book is written in an unknown c

I smiled as he nodded again, his brown hair bouncing around as he leaned in a little closer. I opened the book and started flipping through the pages, looking for a good story or myth to read to him. I paused for a moment at the title page that read ‘The All Mother and the Sacred Four’, tilting the book towards Calix. He smiled and scooted closer, nodding again as I turned the final page and cleared my throat.

One of the original chapters was quite long, and in order to better fit the story's flow, it had to be divided into two separate chapters. This required some reorganization, resulting in scenes being temporarily missing or repeated.

It was cut into, with a smaller book hidden within that took up the rest of the page space underneath. She carefully pulled it out. It was an old brown leather cover with brownish pages. A pretty old book. She gently set down Bigfoot and opened the book, instantly getting sucked in.
