I grinned at him as I took the brush and stroked the color red. “It's because they will easily find out about my plans if we plot the necklace on them. They are known as my enemies so I'm sure they finally think it's me.” I answered back as I continued brushing the brush. The sadness in my heart was taken away after I did several paintings.

Something was about to happen but what. “I guess it is time, my King.” Mercy pulled him out of his thoughts. He gazed at her and she gave him a tight smile. "Tell me who started this stupid custom?" Vladimir mumbled in a bored tone as he looked at the females dressed in different shades of red at which he barely managed not to scowl at them. Red was known to be the most desired color for a Vampire. Exotic yet enchanting. But seeing all the women dressed in red probably in trying to appear somehow appealing to Vladimir, the color lost its charm.

Painting was my passion and I knew the names of the colors. He raised an eyebrow, while starting the engine. “I think it’s Indian red.” “No, Indian red is lighter than this dress. It’s crimson.” I explained like a nerd. “Okay, I will see it again when there is more light. To be continued,” he joked and I sighed, shaking my head at his response.

I wasn’t in the habit of damaging things I meant to use. “You… burned,” she said after a moment, voice small. She glanced at my hand like it offended her. “When you touched it.” I turned my palm over, flexing my fingers. A faint, angry red circle still lingered where the symbol had seared my skin. Not a normal burn. No blister, no broken flesh. Just a mark, like the ghost of a brand that didn’t belong to me. “It’s nothing,” I said. It wasn’t nothing. Across from us, in the front passenger seat, Rian twisted slightly to look back. Dark hair, sharp eyes, jacket open; he’d been with me long enough to know when I was lying.

A kind of fear he didn’t like showing. But I wasn’t ready to let this go. I had to make him change his kind, remove this stupid thought from his mind. “ Why red? ” I asked, squinting at him, suspicious as I lowered myself to a chair. He blinked. “ What? ” “ You said plastic surgery, ” I said sluggishly. “ Fine. Horrifying, but fine. But you want me to also dye my hair too. To red. Why red? ” “ It’s a cover. A different look. You’d be different, no one would notice, they might think it's just a norm. Blondes and brunettes are common around here. ”

I have been breathing heavily ever since. It looks like things are still getting worse. My hearted flared and tightened my chest. The air became thicker filled with boredom. Finally we are letting the cat out of the bag. One happy. The other sad. I am not doing this to win Red's heart. It came from my heart and soul. Red is Jay's favourite colour. I dressed myself in crimson tiger Red dinner gown. My lips painted with tomato red lipstick screaming ready to kiss. My makeup highlighted my oblum face.
