*** The rain poured relentlessly, drenching the entire city of New York without mercy. The night was eerily quiet; even the usual roar of vehicles on the highway was absent. Only the patter of raindrops on the asphalt and the rumble of thunder breaking the pitch-black sky could be heard. In the midst of the downpour, Anastasia stood beneath a deserted city bus stop. She clutched her suitcase tightly, her clothes and body slowly soaking as there wasn't enough shelter to keep her dry.

The weather is a bit off today, with an announcement of an upcoming storm in the proximity of New York City. The street was filled of passerby holding different color umbrellas with their shoes squeaking as they passed by. The thick glass wall of the café was now covered with raindrops coming from twitched umbrellas and splashes of water on the sidewalk. Even it was raining hard, the street was still busy with wheels rolling on the wet street, and feet marching on the sidewalk.

Finally, the rain began to subside, and there was no longer a strong wind and the scary sounds and lights from Nature. "We go now?" take Abyan. "He eh." He almost looked like someone else there, although the flashy sweater and colored pants didn't help at all. Hazi pushed open the glass doors towards the outside of the premises and he was surprised to see himself soaking under the rain. Justin and Jane didn't notice him as they walked to the other side while Hazi was looking down at his feet. He felt the hot tears brimming right in her eyes and he did not know what to do. He let himself under the rain for a long time as he glared up through the clouds and closed his eyes. He felt his hair soaking under the rain as he pocketed his hands on his jeans. He turned his heel around as he heard someone shouting his name behind his back.

"Don't worry, Jeff. We'll always wait for you, no matter what." Just then, my phone buzzed with a breaking news alert. I smiled seeing the headline. Heavy overnight rain had flooded the road leading to the exam venue, making it impassable.

Chapter 15 On our way home, the rain began falling. It was quite heavy and the roads soon turned to waterways, making it very slippery and stuff, so we had to drive very slowly.
