She also wasn’t alone. “Jane?” she whispered again, softer. “Yes, Luna?” Jane mumbled. Lillieth smiled into the dark. The word still felt dangerous. Forbidden. Precious. “I think,” Lillieth whispered, voice small but steady, “tomorrow might be worse.” Jane snorted a sleepy laugh. “Tomorrow is always worse in MoonRiver. Sleep anyway.” Lillieth huffed out a ghost of a laugh.

I ask trying to see what she sees. "Come here and look," She pats the ground beside herself without taking her eyes off the night sky. I do as she asks and when I look up I see what she is seeing and my stomach falls to my feet.

ALEX’S POV. I stood before our devoted army, their faces filled with determination, ready to confront our enemies. The moonlight was our symbol, and tonight, we would use its light to guide us to victory. "Are you guys ready for battle?" I asked, my voice carrying across the gathering.
