For a moment, he just stood there with furrowed brows, his orbs fixed on the cover. “Zombies are Real?” he read, tapping his fingers on the book. Taking a deep breath, he averted his gaze to the books seated next to them. Using his free hand, he grabbed one. “Supernatural Being.” With his lips curled, he scanned them from back-to-front cover. Immediately after, his mind drifted without prior warning. Something about the titles probed his guts. He just didn’t know what. Should he believe these zombies and supernatural beings were true? If not, how could he explain what he’d seen the night before?

I remember all my life in detail during those five years, but the last month of those five years that I went back to the past I don't remember, and I don't remember anything else about that fateful night, nor the person who killed me. I said, attempting to steer the conversation back on course. “Er.” Asher cleared his throat, clearly trying to keep up with my bizarre line of questioning. “Yes, so there is only one mention, but it’s as if we’re missing some pages.” My focus was back now. “Explain.” “The author of this entry has written here.” Our scouts apprehended a rouge today who was trying to cross our boundary lines. The rouge said he was running from a werewolf who was conjuring fireballs at him. We suspect he is mad but have locked him in the dungeon for questioning.

My brain seemed to have lost control of my body as soon as he was done talking because it was vehemently refusing to obey me. I immediately dropped the bag with all of the books I was holding back into the wardrobe before I slowly began to unwillingly turn around to face him like I was being controlled by a remote. “Sit.” My legs immediately began to walk back to the bed, my mouth refusing to reveal all the resistance and protest filled inside my head. “Wh-what are you doing to me?” I asked the man when he calmly pulled out the vanity chair and moved it closer to the bed so we were inches apart.

I protested as I quickly looked to see how many evil stares I was getting as a result of his attention. To my surprise and relief, they were all too preoccupied with conversation that sounded high pitched and argumentative to pay any attention to me. “Paranormal does not mean ghost hunter. It denotes events or phenomena that are beyond the scope of normal scientific understanding,” he offered. “I would say that getting impressions from places or things falls in that category. Wouldn’t you?” I thought for a moment and then nodded. “What have you gotten from this place?” he asked.

Elias grabbed my hand tight. “This way,” he whispered urgently. “Don’t make a sound.” My heart raced as he pulled me deeper into the dark stacks. We moved fast but careful, stepping around carts and avoiding loose books on the floor. The flashlight beams from the power crew swept across the far end of the basement. Voices echoed. “Anyone down here? Maintenance check!” Elias led me behind a tall row of old reference books, the kind nobody touched anymore. We squeezed into a narrow gap between two heavy shelves. My back pressed against one. His body shielded me from the front. We were so close I could feel his chest rising and falling fast.

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. Perhaps, or you might also found something that would lead you a step closer to who you are." As I was about to ask him something else, he spoke perverting me from adding any other world.

It was considerably smaller than Salem’s, so it didn’t take us long to find the ritual books. “There’s so many,” Loretta said, pulling a few off the shelf and flipping through them. “But they’re all so bloody confusing. Doesn’t he have any for apprentices?” She climbed a ladder to rummage through the higher shelves.
