"Then it'll be just like old times." Misty opened the book and smiled as Eva shuffled around to get comfortable on her lap. Misty then read out the title of the book. Vampires and Their Beloveds "Is this a story or an information book?" Eva questioned her mother. "Looks like it's an information book," Misty spoke out as she turned the page. Before Misty could start reading again, Eva could hear the alarm clock ringing once again in her shared room with Alana. Eve quickly rose to her feet and sighed.

Helena had expelled a large mass of wriggling worms, emitting a foul stench. "Parasites! Those are parasites!" Melanie gasped, her body trembling with shock. "These parasites are formed from the essence of natural energy! I've only read about them in ancient texts!" Frederick swiftly moved forward, capping the writhing mass in a jar. He then said heavily, "She wasn't suffering from any nerve condition. She was infected by a rare parasite known as the Skybane Parasite. These parasites are notorious for controlling the nervous system, and can even manipulate one’s actions."

Parie thought of something, the only thing she can think of at the moment, and ran to where Eve is, using her mana to let her body glow so she can catch Eve's attention. The glow made Eve's eyes hurt, so she opened it a little bit to see where it was coming from; only to see a little fairy-like creature in front of her. "A-A fairy...?" The glow was blinking as if trying to tell her something before it went to Alesteria and jumped up and down. Eve was confused, hesitantly reaching her hand out to the fairy-like creature but instead of actually touching it, Eve touched Alesteria's hand. Like a thread pulled too taut. Maddox’s hand was on my back instantly. “Eve.” “I’m fine.” I wasn’t. But I was still standing. Still in control. That was enough. “Open it. Find what you need and let's go out.” he said. I did. The pages didn’t flip. They moved by itself. Shifting beneath my hands like they were alive, like they recognized me. The symbols rearranged themselves, ink bleeding into new shapes, new words, old language twisting into something I could suddenly understand.

When Mason heard these words, he felt like retching as he blurted out, “Feed on human brains?! This… ugh… this is too disgusting…” Carvalho nodded and said, “Look at that security guard just now. How do you think the parasitic worm was able to manipulate and control his corpse?” Mason shook his head and said, “I… I don’t know… I feel that all of this is simply too incredulous. This is not scientific at all, and it is not like the Book of Changes and the Eight Diagrams which might seem very mysterious at first, but after mastering the essence of it, you’ll realize that everything is actually traceable…”

The gavel fell for the final time. “The charge of parasitism is confirmed.” Screams rose and fell around me. I could imagine them struggling to escape, only to be dragged back into their seats, stripped down to their true forms, and crushed inside the extraction device. I had no interest in listening to those filthy sounds any longer. I pulled out my earpiece. Taking Megan’s hand, I walked away, step by step. Thank goodness for the Trial of a Parasite. If it didn’t exist, how else could I have found justice?

EVE Everything happened too fast. One moment we were standing in Dr. Chen's clinic, the next Adam was throwing me and Lucia behind an examination table while Circe engaged the vampires. "Stay down!" Adam roared, shifting into his massive black wolf. I crouched over Lucia, my body shielding her as glass and debris rained down. She started crying, her little face scrunched up, and I felt power surge from her tiny body. "No, baby, not now," I whispered frantically. "Please not now."

He was about to start the show. Eve was tied with a table. She was still naked. Her body had stopped healing, Adrian had tortured her this much. She had dried blood all over her body. Even a merciless monster would have stopped but Adrian did not stop. He came towards Eve and signalled two vampires. They held Eve's jaws open. He went to her. She was begging him with her eyes to stop but he smiled instead.

Heath sat at his desk thoughtfully. He rotated his chair to face the wall behind him. Pushing the red button on the remote control in his left hand, he turned on the fifty- two inch, flat screen monitor, which hung on the wall behind him. It quickly went through it's voice guided starting options. He chose the source button on the thin black remote. "Source selection Open HDMI1-MHL," echoed through the large open space. "Source selection close HDMI1-MHL," the electronic voice announced. Suddenly, Faidh's sleeping image appeared on the screen. The blank expression on Heath's face quickly changed to tenderness. This WAS his Eve. She just HAD to be!
