"Don't answer. Act like we didn't see them." Apollo wiped his sweat, his mind in complete chaos. Outside, Orion was clearly getting angry.

“Go back to the Winterpaw Pack, now!” Apollo’s hand lands on my shoulder. “It will be okay brother. We will get there before you know it and we will be by her side.” I nod, at least I think I nod. “I’m going to call Ares and let him know what’s going on.” I don’t look at him; I don’t notice that he’s already made the call. “He’s not answering. I will keep calling. We will get to her, brother.”

It was only when she stopped to catch her breath and the Patroller following dashed forward and nipped her hind shoulder that she truly recognised that she was being led somewhere. Running further she almost fell over the edge of a ravine that opened up in front of her before she could put on the brakes sending her tumbling over her front paws to end up in an inglorious tangle next to a beautiful in-flower cherry tree. She hit it with a thump knocking the air from her lungs and showering her with the palest pink petals from the blooms, 'You look very beautiful.'

I yelled. Lucas glanced at me and then ran as fast as he could to the next security who was stretched on the ground, basking in the rare sunlight. “Lun. Ma. Lun!” he said in his broken vocabulary. The wolf grunted, got up and started trotting. Apollo was coming from the other side. He stopped his jeep and jumped down. “Caught ya big fellow!” He picked up Lucas and hurled him in the air. “Daaa!” Lucas squealed, showing his four teeth and those tiny fangs.

QUARTER TO FOUR, Zero drove his way to Peterson’s residence. When he got there, he was welcomed by Apollo’s mom. “Good day, young man,” the woman uttered and greet him with a kiss on the cheek. He smiled. “Good day to you too, Mrs. Peterson.” “Aw. You’re adorable. Anyway, Apollo is in the garden. You know, he’s hands-on for her sister’s debut party,” Mrs. Peterson shared and let out a soft chuckle which makes him stunned for a while.

Ember replied, making me laugh. Apollo finally noticed that I was getting closer and he quickly jumped to his feet. “Mommy!” Apollo yelled running straight at me. “Hey my little wolf!” I giggled as I scooped him up in my arms. “Did you have fun with the others?” I asked. “Yes! I wuv them! Ember so fluffy!” Apollo giggled. I can’t believe how big he has gotten and so quickly and now he is talking that cute little gibberish stuff little kids always go through. He is the perfect combination of Tye and I. He had Tyes strong jawline and his fair skin. My jet black hair and mix matched eyes. Even though he eats like it is his last meal he is slim but he is tall. Apollo started squirming in my arms

“Apollo, maximum speed! We won't be able to beat them. There are too many of them!” Apollo was suddenly nervous. “But in front of a dead end, sir. I took the wrong route earlier.” “Damn it! Back off then! Back off!” Apollo tried to back off. The sheer number of monsters around them made him shudder. Their claws and fangs secreted poison and some were even corrosive and very dangerous. “Just hit them!” Liam ordered furiously. "We have to get out of here!" Apollo was confused but he tried to obey Liam's orders. He reversed his car and crashed into the monsters that were blocking them. Some of the monsters tried to reach Liam, but if that happened then Liam would punch them.

I knew in that moment Apollo fucked up. We felt an invisible force hit us so hard. It sent us flying into the closest tree. Apollo yelped as our side hit the tree, then slid down it. Our body hitting the ground with a thump. Apollo slowly stood up then shook his fur out. He turned back to look at Addison who was standing in front of Aurora in a protective stance. Her eyes glowing as the wind whipped around her. "Apollo you little fucker! Mate or not, If you don't knock it off, I'm going to kick your ass!"

Her presence lingered like a reminder I could not escape. But I was an Alpha. I wasn’t weak. I wouldn’t be drawn in by something as trivial as that. I forced myself to keep my voice flat as I spoke. "I got myself a Luna." I tried to make the words sound like a command, like it was nothing to me, nothing more than a simple statement of fact. "She’s nothing more than a means to an end." Nathan’s eyes widened for a brief moment, and I could tell that the scent of Elara was getting to him as well. He stepped closer, his voice lowering, like he was afraid to speak too loudly. "Is she... your mate, Alpha?"
