The healers can’t… My pack’s healers can’t do anything for her, and I’ve tried everything.” His voice broke, a shattered sob escaped his throat before he spoke again. “I need you.” He needed me? Ha. What a joke. I didn’t know what to do—how to feel. This wasn’t the guy I knew. Ryder was arrogant, selfish, cruel. Not like this.

Ryder was by the end of the stairs with a pen between his fingers. “Did you just return from the station or have you been inside the house for long?” He asked, waking closer to me. “I just came in. Is Ryan sleeping?” I asked, noticing Ryan wasn't with him. “Dave and Lily took him out to make me work well. How did it go? Did you finally get the confrontation you wanted?” he asked and I nodded. “She is sick,” I said, my voice quiet. “Sick? We can take her to the hospital from the station,” I shook my head and turned to look at Ryder.

He said rubbing his face. “Ryder, you need to calm down.” Ryle whispered as Seraphina continued to purr for him. “We need to think properly and if you’re angry you can’t think.” She said to him. He took a deep breath, allowing his mates scent to fill his senses. “Okay, I’m fine.” Ryder said still holding Ryle. Now, tell us what happened. How the fuck did they get out?” He demanded to know. “That’s what we’re trying to figure out.” Drake told his son. “I have Chase and Caleb looking at the CCTV for the hospital.”

Ray isn't here. I look over at Ryder in the dark and he's still fast asleep. I let the sight of him reassure me. I didn't even hear him come home last night because he spent so much time in the medical tent, questioning the guys who were in charge of keeping us safe from such an attack. A lot of them got seriously hurt. I'll have to ask him what he's concluded when he wakes up. He looks so peaceful when he's asleep. The warriors were quick to grab her to stop her from approaching the boy. “What is this about?” Arnold asked with his brows creased with worry. “I received news from the pups camp that one of the young pups was sick and he’s been under my care since yesterday. He’s not responding to treatment and we still can’t find out what caused the sickness” Ruby explained. “The worst part of it is that there are 5 more infected at the camp yet they have no idea what caused it” Morpheus added.
