Lynette’s POV The sound of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” fills my living room, the lyrics weaving through the air as I sway to the rhythm. The bass vibrates faintly beneath my feet, the melody almost drowning out the distant hum of traffic outside. “Screaming, crying, perfect storms…”

I step into the live room, headphones on, mic adjusted to my height. The glass between us feels like old times and not. “Ready?” he asks through the talkback. “Always,” I say. “Liar,” he murmurs, but his eyes are soft. I start with something simple. A melody that’s been looping in my head since Palermo. A verse about disappearing. A chorus is about being seen too much and not at all. The words that follow are less kind. The photographer was standing on the walkway above us, watching, waiting, documenting. The message reads: She was not working alone. I am still here. I am still watching. I am still waiting. Although, they were trying their best to get it to twenty.
