She giggled, twirling a finger around her hair and swaying her hips while she stood there staring at me wide-eyed. "Don't you think he's hot? Sure he's wolfless and all but he's also the eldest of the Wade family. They rule the strongest pack in all of the United States, and do you know what that means?" Paula leaned her upper body over the table, while I sat back on my chair with my arms folded against my chest, raising an eyebrow as I watched her smirk once again. "What?" I asked impatiently. My feet tapping the floorboard in rapid speeds. Paula smiled and leaned closer to my ear.

It was the beginning of everything. After I’d completed my official patrol of the perimeter, which included barking at two suspicious leaves, marking three separate trees, and breaking up a shady-looking pigeon gathering, I permitted myself to play. There were other dogs in the park. I knew them. Well, most of them. Milo, the golden retriever, has no impulse control. Olive, the rescue mutt, always brought a squeaky toy and never shared it with anyone. And a rotating pack of doodle variations who never stopped moving and probably ran an underground treat exchange.

Because what awaited them ahead was Ezra's difficult door. "If you two don't want to hunt, you can come back." Ezra seemed to sense the displeasure of the two wolves behind him and told them to return to the Wolf Clan first. Windy heard that and was extremely happy, and he excitedly shook his fluffy fur. When Nolan saw that Windy was about to speak, he said first, "It's okay, leader. We want to go hunting with you.” Windy turned his head to look at Nolan, and he used his fiery eyes to suggest, "Why?"

He's already done with school and works as a veterinarian. We left home. Lupus was whimpering the entire time saying he doesn't want to leave home. Big baby. But he ended up forgetting about that when we got to the airport. "Wow, the plane is so big." He chuckled while staring at the planes in awe. "They're so much bigger in real life." I smiled at how naive he is. Suddenly, the woman who was sitting next to me's dog started barking at Lupus. Lupus immediately reacted with growling to it. I pulled him away from the small dog. The woman just stared at us confusedly.

But its grandson, the small grey wolf Sylvan had brought back from the forest, was already grown. Rage had named him Firepaw—for the patch of dark red fur on his right front paw. He walked behind Rex with Firepaw at his side, across the ice plains for a whole day. When he returned, his boots were covered in frozen soil and ice chips. He ran to Luna and held up the small handful of thistle root tendrils clutched in his fist for her to see.
