​"Promise." ​He held out his little pinky finger. I hooked mine right through his, pulling our hands close between us. ​"Pinky promise," I whispered. "You cannot break a pinky promise. It's against the rules." ​"I know," he said, his small face set in stone. "That is why I will never break it." ​I believed him. I believed him with my whole heart, and I held onto that memory for years. I thought nothing could ever tear us apart.

She had no family or friends to fall back on here. She sighed, holding Nate's shoulder lightly. “Mummy promises to take you out tomorrow. I'll take you to a place where the meal feels like home. But today, let's order. Please.” He paused as if he needed to think about it. Then, suddenly, he placed his little finger out for her. “Pinky promise.” She smiled. “Pinky promise.” Pinky promises were promises she mustn't break, no matter how busy she was. Glad that he had secured her promise, he proceeded to tell her what he would love to eat. Immediately, Nita placed the order.

I raised my hand, stopping Anjali from scolding her. "Deal. " I said as she gave me her pinky finger, I raised my brow in confusion. She asked, "Promise?" Oh my goodness! I am gonna melt right away, "Promise, " I let out, laughing. "So can we go now?" She questions excitedly. But before I could reply, Anjali interrupts, "Not now, baby, he's here to talk about something important to Mama, " She explains. She flashes a sad look, "Don't worry, angel, I always keep my promise, " I stated, her face soon lifts in a grin.

i said to her “but uncle kai” she whined with a pout “uncle kai will be a bit late today, he has a lot to do, but i promise to wake you up as soon as he comes back” i said with my fingers crossed behind my back "Pinky promise?" Tracy asked, holding up her small finger, her eyes wide with expectation. I hesitated for a moment, then smiled and hooked my pinky around hers. "Pinky promise," I confirmed, feeling a pang of guilt for making a promise I was sure I couldn’t keep.

She held out her pinky finger. “Promise.” “If you break it, you get me a real sword dart,” she smiled as we locked pinkies. “Wait, princess. Those are dangerous,” I reasoned, and remembered the endless promises I’d broken even after sealing them with our pinkies. They always ended with me having to buy her something to make up for it. “Besides, I’ll be working from home for the rest of this week, then I’ll be coming home early from next week,” I promised. “Really?” She clapped and pulled me into a hug.

“But from now on, you call me when you need something. Not him. Me, I’m your guy.” “Seriously?” “Yes. Promise me.” He turns, raising his pinky finger, of all things. I blink, incredulous. “What are we, five?” “Maybe not. But I take my pinky promises seriously. So, promise me.” His little finger waves insistently, pout intact. I groan, rolling my eyes, but eventually hook my pinky with his. He grins, small but real, a light breaking through all that storm. His hand lingers in mine, and when he turns back, his voice is gentler. “Things are going to be hard at home. Especially now.”

I hand him my plate that he happily takes out my hand. "I will be in so much trouble if my mom found out that I had two extra slices of cake." He grins, picking the cake up, taking a big bite, messing his face up more. "You have to pinky promise not to tell." He holds his pinky finger out towards me. I look down at his hand for a second. "I promise." I couldn't stop the small smile that tugged at the corners of my lips, as I reach out locking our pinkies together, sealing the promise. Even though Tammy would be the last person I would tell anything to.

A gentle smile plastered on her face. "Then, let's renew our promise." She sticks out her pinky finger towards them. "Please keep this one promise. I don't care if you broke the other promises you make with me, but, this one promise we make at this time, at this place, and at this moment, please make sure, you guys uphold it." The taller boy without much hesitation wrapped his pinky finger around the girl's finger. Then, he glances at his friend and raised his eyebrows provocatively.

Jai politely asked. Ina starred into his eyes before looking at her mother, and then at Darrion, and then at her mother again, before she nodded. “But don’t take too long. We want to tell stories with you,” Ina said. Jai smiled at her and nodded. He held up his pinkie for her. “Alright. How about a pinkie promise?” “What’s a pinkie promise?” Ina tilted her head in confusion. Jai took her right hand and made her pinkie hooked with his pinkie. “It’s a promise while hooking our pinkies like this. This means that we should never break it, because if we break it, we would lose each other’s trust.”

I’m certainly not proposing you this way or this soon despite how much I want to (just so you know, I’m dead serious about proposing to you someday, just not today) This is a promise ring (I believe that’s what they call these days) I give you this ring to say that I’m so in love with you and that I promise to make you the happiest person in the world. I know you don’t love me yet but that’s okay. You said you trust me with your life and I promise that I’ll do anything to keep that trust. I just hope you don’t lose faith in me, ever. I’ve made a lot of promises to you over the years since our childhood. I’ve kept every one of them and I intend to keep them all – new and old.
