Mona whispered shakily, her body slightly shaken from crying. Mona squealed in surprise when she felt something crawling on her hand, the girl immediately shook her arm when she realized it was a cockroach. She ran to find something to repel the insect, and when she found a broom Mona quickly got rid of the cockroach. Breathing a sigh of relief, she immediately swept the place where she was sitting while holding an object for dusting. It would be her weapon while she was here. "This place is so creepy, why did Brother Arka have the heart to punish me here? I'd rather work a full day," Mona whispered, her eyes wary of the cukes approaching her again.

Inside, I could see the dull gleam of stones—half of them still warm from battle. Fangs. Claws. Even a few blackened feathers from one of the rift beasts. “Good work,” I said, voice steady. Alaric stepped up beside me again, glancing down into the crate.

Deedle's burly form was sent flying out of the door right then, and he dropped on the floor like a ragged doll. His bleeding teeth were all sent flying, while his eyes rolled up into his head as he fainted. "What?!" Deedum exclaimed in disbelief. When he turned toward the dainty girl again, he abruptly noticed the faint pure vigor swirling around her. Deedum's face paled. "A-Are you Birthright rank…?!" "You finally realized, huh? Well, it's too late!" Mona bellowed as she used the wall as a springboard and leapt, launching a missile-like kick at Deedum even as he raised both hands in defense.

One minute it was a three headed wolflike creature, the next, it was a woman laying naked on the floor. "Angelina?" Mona whispered out her name like if she called it too loud, she would bite her. "You, I've seen you before." She got up slowly, and walked straight to one of the chairs to sit down. We all exchanged glances and I was pretty sure we saw the same thing. A strange woman moving freely and confidently in her nudity. "Um, you're..." Mona paused and lifted her hands to her ears as if scratching them. We all knew she didn't need to complete her statement before a meaning appeared. Ma'am, you're bloody naked! Kedar mingled with a lot of strange people.

There had to be a reason that the moonstone had been in my family for so long, passed down from one ancestor to the next, and I had to believe that it had to come directly from the Moon Goddess herself. From what Tonya tells me the wolves are a creation of the Moon Goddess, the same Goddess whose blood runs through my veins. Telling me that my two sides are one, it’s just getting them both to see it that way. That was my goal for today, getting my two sides to see that they are both children of the same Goddess and she would want them to live in harmony.

“Listen, Nya, do you want to see what’s become of the so-called sacrifices or not?” An image of Gavin’s smiling face came to mind, one from before the Dragon Moon where he was claimed by this monster. She narrowed her eyes at him. Nya Gould wasn’t easily frightened. While it crossed her mind she might be crossing into a lair filled with angry, hungry dragons, something about Slate’s mannerisms made her trust him. Of course, that could just be how he tricked his prey into becoming his dinner.
