I didn’t believe you. That night, I was going to give up. You probably don’t remember, but you left a poem in the pocket of that blanket. I didn’t read it until the next morning. It said: “You are not the dark thing that happened. You are the light that survived it.” I carried that scrap of paper with me for years. It went through every foster home. Every hospital visit. Every night I thought I wouldn’t make it. I read it so many times the ink started to fade. But the words never did.

I jumped up and opened my arms wide. "The wind calls my name, but I refuse to answer. I have to run, to get away... from all that I've done." I sing and make up some kind of beat. "I know I'm wrong. But can't you see I'm just a child that has lost his way."

She whispered clearly as she frowned. "Ma'am, please help me!" I begged. "Help?" She said and narrowed her eyes, she looks like she was inquisitive about it. "Yes, ma'am." "What help and why me?" She interrogated. "Because you might know about it," I seriously look at her eyes. "Know what?" "Your poem entitled 'I'm sorry,' ma'am. Isn't it's about a man who lived in another world?" I said and I examined her emotion, her eyes widen in horror and chaos.

She started out by saying, “This poem is called Unapologetically Me. We go through different things in life that cause us pain. We have people in our lives, who make it their mission to try to break us or destroy us, but we are stronger than that. So, I dedicate this to all of us who have ever been through heartache and survived.”

I went first, blocking out everything as the words came to me; my poem was about my life and all the pain I'm going through. The most astonishing thing was that every title tried to minister to me so much more that I was confused. There is a poem titled 'HOPE', there was 'VAGUE AS AIR', 'DEATH AND IT'S PEACE' and other incredible poems all written by Trevor. I read each poem and felt as if he was talking to me directly.
