I believed it was him who influenced what poem I had picked, as each one seemed to apply to my life. Perhaps I was wrong, but I couldn't bring myself to care.

This time, I didn’t respond. He seemed to sense something. “Sarah…” He paused, about to turn back, but Julia caught his hand. And just like that, he left. That day, the sky was clear and bright. That day, my heart felt light. That day, I finally ended a failed relationship. I boarded the plane and left it all behind.

The light mood I felt just moments ago has quickly faded and the sadness from before is back and weighing heavy on my heart. Penny leans over the table, reaching out and taking my hand in hers. "I'm so sorry that you have had to live through losing a husband at such a young age. I know what you're going through, even the betrayal your feeling now feelings, but I promise you it will get better. You will forgive and let go and you can find room to love again, Molly. You are young, beautiful, and have so much to give to a man, and any man to end up with you at his side will be a very lucky man."

Not to conclude. But to let go.

Isn’t that worse?” The stars blurred above me as I kept talking, needing to fill the silence. “You never even got to hold it, but you still have to let it go. It’s so precious you can’t release it… but it hurts too much to keep.”

Looking back in his hand, he remembered how his phone got ruined because of Ian. To carry the lessons from our love without letting it define my future. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting. It means choosing myself after everything. And for the first time in a long time, that feels like the right decision.

Growth and letting go. All of it. All at once. Forever.
