I played another song, my fingers dancing across the keys, when my phone chimed with a notification. I frowned, thinking it might be Kiara or Clinton. But when I picked it up, I realized it was a W******p message from an unknown number. Curiosity piqued, I opened it. It was a video. I clicked on it, and my blood ran cold. There was Clinton, on a bed, with Seraphina. They were tangled in the sheets, her hands cupping his face as she kissed him. I couldn’t see his full face, but I knew it was him. My heart dropped.

Alpha Lucas waved his hand dismissively, “we’re here to negotiate an alliance, what the Midnachtsinne do within their borders is of no concern to us.” The man in question sat back with a huff, his face was stony, though it didn’t seem to be directed at me. I shifted anxiously, uncomfortable at being spoken of as if I weren’t present. Alpha Lucas flashed another grin at me as he stated, “Thank you for your service Emilia, as I’m sure you’ve been informed you’ll be preparing my meals from now on. I look forward to consuming everything you have to offer.”

I did not ask more about it on realising that it was not his choice to watch it. Once we had finished eating, I helped him clear up and wash. We came back to the living area after that. Settling on the couch, he switched on the TV. There was nothing that either of us really wanted to watch, so we changed channels till we found highlights of the soccer tournament that had happened at the national level. I watched it for a while but could not exactly focus on it. Eventually, I looked at Hiro-san. “I talked to Aki-chan today.” “Hm?” He turned his attention to me.
