The cover is simple with the middle half of a woman on the front and the title crossing it. I flip it over and read the blurb. My eyes skim over the text as a small smile plays across my lips when I finish reading.

At least, for now, I want to pretend everything is still alright. I step out of the kitchen and through the corridor to the living room. "Would you like any snacks with—" I gasp halfway through my question, nearly dropping the tray. Rhys is holding a familiar book in his hand. I instantly know what it is, but I stubbornly hope he didn’t read it. That thought flies out the window when he opens his mouth. "You have quite the imagination, Kira Davidson."

A lot of them were classics, novels by Dickens, Voltaire, Dumas, Melville, and Hemingway. She smiled when her fingers ran over the spine of not one, but three copies of Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. There were modern novels, too, including Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon, but they didn't look as well read as some of the others.
