The phone vibrated in my hand again, and I did the sensible thing and shouted, “babe, someone is calling you non stop.” The sound of the shower must have drowned out my voice, because I got no response. On its own accord my fingers swiped the call and put it in my ears. “Hello” There was a long prolonged silence on the other line, for a while so I repeated the “hello.” At this point I was beginning to get irritated and I could clearly see why Nik labeled it, it must be a prank call. I hissed loudly and was about to end the call when I heard the voice, “hello, please where is Nik,”

Finally, he closed his eyes, smiled bitterly, and said, "Alright." My mother gave a soft hmph and ended the call. Noah looked at me, opened his mouth as if to speak, then said nothing. He set the phone down and turned to leave. I stared at his unsteady retreating figure, momentarily stunned. Samuel suddenly tilted my chin up. "If you keep watching him, I'll bite you." He flashed his sharp canine in a playful threat. I blinked. Before I could reply, he leaned in—and a light sting bloomed on my cheek.

She explains. “Call him, call him, call him.” We all chant. “Fine,” She sighs, picking up her phone and calling him. She hands me the phone and I think of a way to scare him. He declined the call immediately and I call back again. “What?” He asks, frustrated. His accent was honestly to die for. “Landon, we've got the body. Where do you want us to dumb it?” I ask him in a make voice. “Carlota, that's a nice try, trying to prank call me. Did you ask your friends to do it for you?” He asks, and I can hear the smirk in his voice.

He said laughing "I thought you were angry," I asked "I was just doing shakara(forming)," He said still laughing "Gosh you are so unbelievable," I said slapping my forehead. Really can't believe it was a prank "I got you," He said while I rolled my eyes "Anyways am sorry. Lunch on me," I said "That sounds better, where are you?" He asked "At home, am on night duty," I replied "Okay dear, see you at lunch," "Yeah, will text the address to you," "Okay babe." He said finally while I hung the call

What if he missed it? Then we would go again, I told myself. “Here!” He said finally and took my phone. When it began ringing, he handed it to me. “Hello?” A man said on the other line. Expecting s woman, my voice faltered. “Yeah, hello, is this the residence of Rachel Turner?” The man huffed in the background. “It’s been over twenty two years, you think it’s funny to make prank calls?” He bellowed and I cringed.

Bryan said "No am not" I said and giggled shyly when suddenly reality hit me. Why was I laughing with him?, This was someone who was bent on humiliating me. Just then Bryan phone rang and he expression changed as he took the call. I couldn't hear anything he was saying on the phone as he stood up and walked away from the table but if there was one thing I heard, it was the caller's voice saying "Mom is in the hospital" "Am on my way" Bryan replied before turning around to face me, his expression had changed and he now looked like he was going to eat me raw.

Jake was watching his Ipad on the couch and I was cleaning up the kitchen a little when my phone rang. 'Where are you?' said on the other end of the phone 'who is this?' I asked looking at the caller ID it was unknown 'JC?' I asked 'Yes now where are you?' He asked ' The girls and I came on a small trip out of state we'll be back in a couple of days' I say hanging up the call, the rest of the house JC spammed me with messages asking where am I and that he was going to get me after the 30th call I answer 'what do you want?' I say.

I dramatically demand some justice. At one point, we attempt a dance battle. Greg regrets it immediately, and I declare myself as the winner. We end up collapsing on the couch laughing. Greg has just thrown some popcorn at me. As I am planning my retaliation, a sound rings out through the room. It’s Greg’s phone ringing. We both stop our silliness as Greg looks at the number. It’s a Californian number. Could this be the call we’ve been waiting for?

It was now time to begin playing for real since everything was in its proper place. I grabbed the phone on my desk and dailed a nuke. When I hit the button a gentle chime was heard from the line. I asked in a smooth low voice “Did you enjoy the show my friend?” It was answered by a gravelly voice. “Yes it was…messy. For a perfectly executed plan there are many loose ends.”

I guessed that he was calling to urge me to apologize to Doris in the group chat again. I did not want to answer the call, but the phone rang over and over, as Luke called me over seven times. I was still in the pack cleaning up work, so he called the phone there and the phone was brought to me. "Alpha Luke’s on the line. Seems urgent," the guard said, handing me the phone. I took in a deep breath and reluctantly answered the call. "What is it?" I asked coldly. The moment I picked up the call, Luke's angry voice scolded me over the phone. Someone would have thought I was a servant taking orders.
