"We'd have to ask Mariam but... Yeah. We can help you find your mom or whatever. When you're ready you can leave and I won't question it." Scooting closer to me, Emma pushes her bag to the ground in front of her. I lean away so she doesn't have to be near my dirty body, but she doesn't seem to mind. "What if I never want to leave?" she mumbles, her cheeks flushing. My face grows hot underneath the blood and gore, and my lips wobble. An almost smile. "That's... not a bad thing."
