What did we expect?” The eldest among them, the one with the flame symbol, finally spoke. His voice was heavy with age and power. “Expectation is not the issue. Intervention is.” A hush fell. Next, they began to recite words of incantations, and speak in strange languages like they were hypnotized. "We'll know why we're here." The voice of our oldest female alpha spoke up. "We're here to witness the holy matrimony of Aurora Devine Wood and Shane Gledova." Each word that came out of her mouth, was accompanied by dead silence. "As the unite today in holy matrimony, may the moon goddess bless and approve of their union, and give victory to our pack." She prayed. As she spoke, my heart froze in silence. I knew what was going to come next.

Every bit of it. But she stayed upright, her expression tightening as the energy settled. Silence followed. Thick. Unsettling. Then the High Seer spoke. “It has begun,” she said, her voice unsteady but clear. “The prophecy is awakening.” She lifted her gaze. “The Queen has risen.” Whispers spread quickly through the chamber. “The Queen?” one witch asked. “But there is already a queen,” another said, glancing toward the throne. “That would mean…” a third started, then stopped.
