I think of the best way to answer his question. "How do I even give an answer to him when I don't have an answer myself?" I think to myself. The truth is far more complicated to understand. There is no bond that ties us together, no mate pull or even fate of the moon, yet how do I explain it? The instinctive need to protect her from harm, like yesterday when the hunters came for her or even the need to protect her from these rogues even now? That instinct still irritates me more than I care to admit.
