I dreamt of Kellen and Mike, sitting in the royal garden at our favorite fountain as the three of us lay three gazing at the stars. I dreamt of the library, the flickering pages, and glowing words. The dream was different, in slow motion as the same page floated down around me, one phrase highlighted amongst the others: She will rise above the kings and take her place as queen of alphas. The Queen of all shifters.

Chapter 35 In-between Ezekiels battle the tables had turned quickly on his sibling, as the tides often turn in battle. The third Ghoul, with a bloody, milky hole in its sides gave its last into killing or lashing out as much as it could. Two unfortunate Leopard Shifters laid in the dirt.....screaming, clawing at their chests or arms as the poison quickly branched across their veins and finally reached their hearts.

Each thrust becomes rougher and deeper than the last. The more aggressive I become, the more she seems to like it. The woman on my bed is no longer the cheeky, snarky Sarah I got to know; she's an absolute mess, eager to be destroyed. I let go of her right hip, still holding her down, and slide my hand to her breast. I move my hips as if my life depended on it while my finger captures her nipple and twists it, eliciting a loud moan from the gorgeous cat shifter.

"If he's gonna make it I could use your help getting him home, before he bleeds out!" A moment of hesitation was all Ezekiel got this time, before his brothers all moved back into the shadows and De-Shifted. The change from Shifter to man, or as his people called it De-Shifting; was always accompanied by an intense blast of energy all along a Shifters skin. Most felt it like a hot wave across the skin and face, which is exactly what Ezekiel felt cascaded across the still night air, times three. Sharp heat prickled across his skin, as he watched his three brothers meld from one shape into another.

But I was faster. I twisted its arm behind its back, forcing it to the ground. The shapeshifter let out a growl, its body contorting, trying to escape my hold. But I had it now. I could feel its pulse quicken under my grip, a weak thrum of life that wasn’t mine. “You’ve got nowhere to go,” I said, my voice a low growl. “Tell me where the real book is.” It snarled. “You think I’ll tell you?”

Chapter 7: Feral Surrender The world blurred into a haze of silver light and snarling shadows as I lunged at Thorne, my claws slicing through the air toward his chest. The poison burned like fire in my veins, twisting my thoughts into a storm of raw hunger and rage. His blood already scented the air from the shallow cuts I'd raked earlier, sharp and metallic, mixing with the damp earth of the glade we'd stumbled into. The moon watched from above, full and merciless, bathing everything in a glow that made my skin prickle, my partial shift pulling at me like an unbreakable tether. Fur sprouted along my arms in patches, my eyes stinging as they shifted, glowing with that wild, unnatural light.

“What the hell?” I smile weakly, not hiding my rage. “Retribution, assholes,” The ground bursts open and long thin vines race towards the panther shifters. They howl in fear and jump out of the way. I laugh angrily, as the vines change direction, almost as if they have a mind of their own and chase the shifters. “It’s her!” one of them shouts. “She’s controlling them!” “How?!” his companion hisses. “The dealer said—ugh!”

Alex asks. “No, thankyou Alex.” Bellamy answers and Alex hangs up with a click. Bellamy sighs. “I’ll need to call the Alphas. At least now there’s no way that they can say this is unrelated to the Shifters, that’s two now. I don’t know if there’s anything they can do that we aren’t already doing, but at least they can be on the lookout. They can get their Shifters to be on their guard, keep an eye on the young woman. I’m concerned that it’s two Shifters in a row. Is that a coincidence or are the psychos targeting Shifters now?” Bellamy thinks aloud. His hands have moved to stroking and running through my hair. Damn that feels good.
