Hellblades
The sun dipped lower, gold streaking across the waves.
Then I saw it, a pier stretching out into the sea, its tall pillars rising from the water like guardians.
Two men sat at the edge, fishing lines dangling lazily.
“Help!” My voice cracked, raw and weak. I coughed hard, spitting salt, trying again. “Help me!”
The dolphins surged ahead, whistling and chattering loudly, their bodies breaking the surface in a chorus of splashes.
The fishermen froze, staring. One dropped his rod, scrambling to his feet.
