I had no umbrella and was soaked through, my cheap white dress clinging to me.
I looked dishevelled but stubborn.
Dominic pulled over, rolled down the window, and said, "Get in. It's pouring."
I eyed him warily. A young, handsome man driving a luxury car seemed like a dangerous trap.
"No, thanks." I refused and turned to walk away.
Almost instinctively, he opened the car door and got out. He then pressed his expensive jacket into my hands and stood there, drenched in the rain.
"You get in. I won't," he had said. His voice was strained, and his heart pounded wildly.
