At the center of the cavern stretched a pool of glassy water, its surface perfectly still despite the wind that breathed faintly from unseen cracks. But it wasn’t just water—it was a mirror, its sheen too sharp, too exact. The reflections it cast weren’t of the companions standing at its edge. They were… wrong. Mia froze, her stomach lurching. She stared into the pool and saw herself. Not as she was now, but cloaked in shadow, eyes burning with violet fire, her pendant glowing black at her throat. The reflection smiled at her, slow and cruel.

Mira watched the pearl scintillate within the large circular glass in which it was immersed. It emitted flashes of blue light that sailed across the room, leaving mesmerizing ripples behind and casting bluish patterns on the walls and ceiling. It was unlike anything that Mira had seen before. It seemed as if the room was transformed into an ocean of flying stars and undulating waves. She watched in awe as Lankko looked on.
