My head slumped limply to the side, the back of my hand scraping against the rough floor and leaving a bloody mark there. "You're always sleeping! You fall asleep in class, you fall asleep while eating, and now, you actually dare to fall asleep during the year-end exam?" Dad growled at me through gritted teeth. And then, with my thoughts drifting from dreams to second homes to online bookstores, I fell asleep - mentally adding five more titles to my cart. ~3 hours later~ After waking from my much-needed sleep, I made my way to the bathroom to freshen up. When I came downstairs, someone I hadn’t expected to see this early was already there. It was barely 8 p.m. “You’re early,” I said, surprised. He looked at me, his voice low and steady. “I’ve missed a whole chapter of my life that I can’t ignore.”

The soft embrace of my bed welcomes me as my eyes slowly start to close, ready to slip into a comatose state. Just before all protesting ceases, I hear Drew's distant murmur call, "Baby." I look in his direction, and as our eyes meet, I see a ferocity flare in Drew's gaze.
