Jacob’s POV The girl’s name is Calista Caitlynn, a nineteen year old omega. She speaks to me with enough wisdom and intelligence that not all women have, by her looks and her figure I even thought I could marry my son to her instead, only that she lacks the name for it. I could still picture how she gasped for air the moment I touched her, it felt like she wanted me to do more of that. She’s perfect as a whore, to be honest, but she’s even more perfect to serve.

Putting on my black high heels I give myself a last check before heading downstairs as I hear the first cars arriving. Arriving quietly behind my parents as they welcome the first couple – Alpha Zachary and Luna Rachel from the Blood Moon Pack, I step beside my father in time to shake Alpha Zachary’s and Luna Rachel’s hands. My mother and father give me a stern look, acknowledging my close to late arrival. I smile and continue with some small talk with Luna Rachel as Alpha Jackson continues speaking with Alpha Zachary and his Beta Sam. Luna Rachel is a beautiful woman. With her blond hair, brown eyes, and petite frame she is clearly the light in Alpha Zackary’s eyes.

"I don't think it's appropriate for her to be here, knowing that this is a private matter between us both." Rachel took two steps forward, obviously feeling agitated with Jason's haughty manners. She disliked it most when people talked down on her, it mostly made her angry. I stopped Rachel, shaking my head. "No worries, we'll just round this up later. You can leave for now." - I picked up a pile of files, handing them over to her. " I'm done with these as of the moment." Rachel pouted, feeling aggrieved, "If you say so." She took the files, turning as she walked out of the room but not without flashing a quick death glare at the unsuspecting Jason.

“His wolf has a crescent moon on his forehead and bright green eyes.” Mom slumps back in the chair and says, “Well, this is a surprise.” “Luna Rachel says that we’re chosen. That we’ve been blessed by the Moon Goddess,” I tell her. “Chosen for what?” She asks, not able to hide the concern in her voice. “That’s the million-dollar question,” I say with a sigh. The door opens, and Jason comes in with his mate. “Hey, Athena. Good to see you’re awake,” he says with a smile. “This is my mate, Jess. You guys haven’t officially met yet,” he says, beaming with pride over his mate.

All she could think was: Was this how Jason had felt—abandoned and alone? Like his world was spinning off its axis. Like he didn't matter in the grand scheme of things? She needed to move. To leave. Her feet stayed rooted to the ground, as if they had forgotten what they were supposed to do. Rachel was having a word or two with the lady who had compared them. It felt like she was floating above, watching everything play out. Then Rachel rounded on her.

“Weren’t you always on my side? Weren’t you going to help me? Why did you change?!” Jason chuckled weakly, his voice pained. “I was wrong, Rachel. I know that now, so why won’t you wake up?” “Wake up?” Rachel laughed as though she had heard the funniest joke. “I was never wrong! I only did what you did before! You tricked her for me, and now you’re blaming me?!” Her eyes were wild with insanity. “Do you regret it now? Unfortunately for you, she won’t even look your way anymore!”

she added, looking at me. Rachel looked at me, still smiling, and then back at Syd and Nicole. "I'm not going to regret this night -- and I'm pretty sure Jason just had the best night of his life." I smiled sheepishly when she said that. "But from this moment on," she continued, "he's back to being exclusively mine. Understood?" "Damn it," Syd and Nicole both said at the same time, which made them both laugh hysterically.
