I called her name again, but the moaning and the whimpers didn’t stop. Patrea came and grabbed the phone. I wanted not to give it to her, but her force was too strong, and she was able to take it from me. “Althea!” She yelled. Her eyes watered as she looked at Lucius. They stared at each other, and I was sure they were communicating through their mental connection. A devil’s smirk tugged on his mouth as he took the phone from her. “Let me introduce you to the underworld’s prince of deception, Alastor of Athwart.”

The man fell to the ground, screaming in pain while Ares just rolled his eyes and threw the eyeball on the ground and stomped on it because squatting in front of the man. He grabbed the man by the hair and lifted his head up so they were eye leveled. “I told you I don’t do second chances but you are someone I’ve known for so long so I don’t want to kill you off just like that but if you don’t find a way to get me rid of this demon the next time we meet, I won’t just be taking away your other eye but also your life. Got that?” He pushed the man to the ground as he stood up then turned to Cornelius with a groan.

Alastor sees River and switches direction, grabbing River by the throat. Alastor squeezes River’s neck and he quickly begins to turn blue. River claws at Alastor hand, trying to get him to let go but he’s not letting up. I rush up behind Alastor just as Aspen cuts off Alastor’s arm. Alastor shifts while I am midair and I latch onto a piece of flesh on his shoulder. Alastor tries using his tail to hit me and turning his neck to grab onto me but I am in a good spot that he cannot reach me.

I didn’t know what to feel but hurt overrode anything else I could be feeling. “What do I do Dad?” I asked him as I sighed and sat down on the bench in front of the wall. “Damon?” I heard Iris’s voice through the link. “Yes?” I said wondering why I was even talking to her. “What is the date?” she asked me. “The fourteenth,” I said. “Scott’s planning to attack you tomorrow at midnight,” she said as I stood up. I practically ran through the house down to the basement and towards the Alpha cells where Iris were now being held. The cells were much better and provided better sleeping arrangements as well as fresh air and some privacy.
