She drummed her fingers against the book cover. "Start with North America and we'll work around from there." He told her. She nodded as she sat up straighter and placed her grimoire in her lap. She eyed her crystals before picking up Sodalite, Clear Quartz, and Lapis Lazuli and held them in her hands. She shut her eyes and muttered to herself. His eyes dropped to her hands as the crystals emanated a soft eerie pink glow that seeped into her skin and ran through her veins, lighting up her skin with the same pink hue. The glow reached her face where her eyes shot open and luminated that pink glow.

Claire looked at them and asked, “Rainbow moonstones?” Ramona nodded her head, “to help you with your sleepless nights. I know you haven’t said anything, but a little birdy told me it was really starting to have a negative impact on you. So just place a few of these little beauties on your nightstand and your sleep will improve.”

I had to extract the abyssal spark. I placed my stiff, black-veined hands on the crystal. I pulled the raw kinetic energy out of the blue quartz, routing the voltage directly into my own permanently cooked nervous system. The pain was absolute, my veins flaring with blinding light, but I held the tether open. With the cage gone, the localized abyssal pressure was exposed. It was a perfectly spherical drop of absolute black water, no larger than a marble, but it weighed more than the building we were standing in. It hovered over my palm for a microsecond.

The reason she was named Angel was due to the fact that her Dragon was an Angel Aura quartz color. We hadn’t changed her name when she shifted for the first time. Unlike other Dragons, she had also been born with a Dragon Stone, which was the Angel Aura quartz. The Stone was beautiful, with a white base and a mixture of iridescent colors. She was the most beautiful Dragon that I have ever seen. Depending on how the light hit her, her coloring would shimmer with a colorful aura. The Stone had been named correctly because whenever I saw it, she looked like an Angel.

Hesitant. "I made something," she said. Holding out small object. Crystalline. Beautiful. Glowing softly. "It's—it's quantum stabilizer. For Grace. To help with—with nightmares. To filter out dimensional echoes that—that trigger fear responses. I thought—I thought maybe it would help. Maybe—maybe I could give something instead of taking. Maybe—" I took the crystal. Studied it. It was beautiful. Complex. Made with care and skill and—and something that looked like genuine remorse.

Wouldn’t we have figured that out sooner if it were true? Gently, the drakaina places her tapered fingertips at very precise points on her crown, each one glowing to life as her flesh connects with the smooth, iridescent markings. As she does, her humming increases in frequency and volume, the tone turning lavender, the crown responding along with the markings on her arms, until both are glowing a faint purple in response. Her tongue moves, her mouth shape changes, and the note glows indigo, then violet, and red. One by one, she shifts her voice through the tones of the rainbow, right before all the colors coalesce, becoming all of them combined, a bright white so blinding that all I can see

“Okay. You can look. But if you don’t like it, won’t hurt my feelings if you wanna return it.” Ava glanced down as her fingers lifted the charm. A miniature rose. The twisty stem and tiny leaves were antique silver. The bloom, the size of an eraser, was milky white shot through with pink undertones. Delicate, old-fashioned and absolutely perfect. “I couldn’t find one like your grandpa gave you, and this was the closest I could come. The rose is carved out of rose quartz, which is all over Wyoming.”

I don’t mind him being grumpy…just in moderation, that’s all. Gabriella chuckles. “We’re ready when you are,” she tells him. He nods, taking in a deep breath and closing his eyes. At the same moment, Gabriella and Zarseti take a few steps back. With perfect timing, Aya and I watch as their bodies billow with energy. Gabriella’s is a vivid dark green, like a deep emerald, while Zarseti’s is a vibrant fuchsia, but neither is as intense as the onyx waves emitted from Azadou. It’s larger, and the power and chill coming off it is enough to not only rival the winter air but make Aya and me take a few steps back.

Sylvia stopped mid-sentence and blushed. “Well, what’s done is done, so let’s see Grampa and see what he has for you two.” Tabby got up from the chair and led them to Gerald’s cabin, where he was standing by a table that cast a red glow. “I’ll be with you girls in a moment, just finishing the final touch. I crafted a Qi inhibiter for you two to slow down your absorption. That way, you will not overflow and cause your unique auras to manifest. There that should do it.” Gerald turned around, holding two golden bracelets with a red sapphire in the center, and handed them to Tabitha and Sylvia.

It was really small in size and was black in colour. Aurora held the black box and opened it, only to be shocked by the shining thing. She took it out and saw it was a small crescent shaped, ocean blue coloured pendant. It was shining from its core and was appearing as if waves were occurring in an ocean. It looked unreal, out of the world. "It's beautiful." Rain whispered and Aurora nodded. It was indeed beautiful. But beauty often is misleading. How will this pendant help her to get rid of the pain she feels?
