Tony began unloading enough lobster ravioli and truffle risotto to feed a small army. "That’s very... generous," I said, walking over. "But we just had sandwiches." Vito’s jaw tightened. "Sandwiches are not food. They are bread with disappointment in the middle. Eat the ravioli." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet-wrapped object, shoving it toward me. "And I found this on my desk. I don't want it. Take it."

I check the dates, happy to know that the food have yet to expire and give myself an imaginary pat on the back for remembering to place food in here six months ago.

Just noodles? “Hey, these are straight from Korea. Cup Ramen. I got loads of them for you because you might need instant food. Just microwave and eat. Or add boiling water. Check this out,” Dolly lifted a small one that reminded Olive of ice cream and opened it. Steam wafted out and a delicious smell reached Olive's nose.

Nicole headed home and got straight to work, pulling together ingredients for ravioli. She started by making the fillings: a classic ground pork mix, a ricotta and herb blend, and a simple mushroom filling. Once everything was prepped, all that was left was to start assembling. Ten pounds of dough was a lot. At this rate, it felt like it would take all afternoon to get through it. I tell her. “Good, I want to make sure that baby gets all the Italian nutrients needed. I’m also gonna teach the baby Italian.” Roxi winks at me as her husband appears. “Ah there is my favorite couple!” Tony walks over and brings in another plate of food. “I need for you to really give this a try. It barely even felt like Monday and still the weekend but I did seem to have a very busy day tomorrow already planned out by Monique.
