I leaned in a fraction of an inch, a teasing glint in my eyes, "I prefer classic literature. Russian realism, psychological thrillers. Dostoyevsky, Fitzgerald, Hemingway. I like substance." "Substance?!" Ruby mocked, completely offended. "Are you implying my romance novels don't have substance? Excuse you, but enemies-to-lovers tropes require intense psychological maneuvering! The angst! The tension! It's art, Alexander. Your little Russian thrillers have nothing on a slow-burn romance."

Silent Madness

Athena asked, curious about the significance of the book. He retrieved the book from the shelf and handed it to her. "This one." Athena realized it was the same book she had found in her office during their previous session. "His taste in books is kinda weird," Vincent added. "It's not about the taste, it's about what the heart and mind want to be fed with," Athena said thoughtfully. "And it seems like he wants to be fed with the dark."

A Queen Among Gods

A Queen Among Gods

Does that still qualify even if he didn’t use tools? He carries me along the balcony, allowing me to glance down at the floor below, but pauses. I glance at him, then look to the side, my eyes widening as I suddenly understand what Belle felt in Beauty and the Beast. Jartre sets me down and I push open the shutter doors to the most gorgeous home library. It’s not ostentatious like what the beast gave Belle, it’s much smaller, intimate, and cosy with a single couch and ottoman. The walls are lined floor to ceiling with books with a stunning view of the ocean, but the view is slightly obscured by the plants of the island, which casts a dim light over the room creating the perfect ambience for

Burning Desire: His Chosen Wolf

"Never saw you as an avid reader." "Don't judge a book by its cover, Lena. This hot person standing before you had brains, too. That's why I laugh when you see me in advanced classes." I rolled my eyes. "Quit being narcissistic." He laughed. "So why are you raiding my shelf?" "I wasn't raiding your shelf," I emphasized. "I was just looking through. I am interested in your choice of books." "You find it nerdy, don't you?" He asked. I nodded and he winked. "Girl, you've got everything here. Hot, handsome, sexy twenty year old male who loves to read and is thought to have OCD. What more do you want?"

The Day I Kissed An Older Man

The Day I Kissed An Older Man

She barely stopped herself from saying that Corinne would not be able to pay for the damage. "Understood. I'll make sure to be careful with them." Corinne nodded, ignored Anya's attitude, and walked over to peruse some of the books on the big bookshelf. She picked one at random and flipped through it. She then placed it back and took a different book. The books were all exceptionally well-written, rather than vapid literature that was bought to fill the shelves and make one seem well-read. Maxwell seemed to love reading a lot, much like many historical figures who were erudite but had rather despicable characters.

Love the story. The author is a genius. It was never boring and so unpredictable. Every chapter is fascinating and brilliant. Every character added in every chapter makes it more intriguing and interesting. Can't put down the book when you start reading! Hope to read more of her works.

The Mafia's Slave: Claimed By My Stepbrother

The Mafia's Slave: Claimed By My Stepbrother

I hadn’t set eyes on him since the incident, and his presence felt a little soothing, but he was gone now, in a haste, and I had to continue with something that still felt unreal. For the next one hour, the booksellers and I engaged in selecting books that might be of interest to me. I noticed that Athena tried to chip in a few suggestions but they kept insisting that this was my choice to make. Although I would have appreciated Athena’s expert opinions, I still decided to adhere to Cain’s words and allowed the booksellers to carry on with everything. After that, they proceeded in showing different library designs and decorations. “I want something that is not so girly and fancy,” I told the

Tasting my stepbrother daddies.

He didn’t at all give any turn for any students to try to weave their way into his good books. She tried to act uninterested until Chloe raised her hand to ask a question when calls were made. “Professor, from the studies I’ve read, I believe aesthetics are more key than the actual design in sculptures and structures. I want you to speak on that, since you argued in my report my assignment’s topic was lacking,” Chloe argued. “You’re still insisting aesthetics should take the lead? Even after my lecture and thesis?” He said to Chloe, and Chloe’s cheeks heated. She felt embarrassed, and Sadie saw this as an opportunity to talk back to Lorenzo and to fight for her friend in a way.

Chasing His Divorced Wife

"That's what I needed. The opening line is a question. The title can't also be one." "Balance." "Structure." She handed me coffee. "You want balance. I want structure." "What's the difference?" She thought about it. "Balance is aesthetic. The structure is load-bearing." She drank. "The title has to hold the whole book." "And this one does." "This one does." She leaned against the counter. "What The House Kept. Everything Thomas left in it. Everything she brought back. Everything the place held between them across decades." "And what it kept from her."

The Third Room [MxM]

The Third Room [MxM]

The rain had let up just long enough to tempt him across the square. Now he stood in the narrowest aisle, surrounded by dusty journals and anthologies too niche for anyone to bother stealing. He ran his fingers along the spines, mostly unread. Something about the weight of knowledge in here felt comforting — or at least distracting. Books didn't demand things. They waited. Quiet. Unmoving. Unlike people. His hand paused over a faded publication bound in cloth. Éther – Student Literary & Visual Arts Review: Volume XXVI. The cover had no art, just hand-stamped gold letters on charcoal-grey linen. He pulled it from the shelf.
