The waiter replied before sauntering off. Kyrian waited for just a few minutes, he rubbed his hands in excitement as his order arrived. One of the things he loved about Hilton restaurant was their aptness in response. The cake looked so red and inviting. If it was allowed in the culinary language, it can be said to be sexy. Kyrian picked up the fork placed next to the plate to dissect it and he lunged into it savoring the flavor. After three bites in the red velvet cake, he decided to let his brain rummage through the happening of the night.

The motion of him loosening it made my breathing stop and I turned away, looking in the cupboard for some simple cake mix. "We won't go full homemade for your first one," I said, holding up two boxes. "Let's make cupcakes. Vanilla or red velvet?" He frowned. "Red velvet? Why is it red? Does it taste like blood?" "Oh my gosh!" I laughed and tossed him an apron. He looked baffled, but managed to figure out how to pull it over his head. He looked ridiculously sexy with the streamlined apron and the rolled-up sleeves. "Please let me take a photo," I said.

It is my friend’s birthday today and this was his favorite. I left one for him in another friend’s freezer as a surprise.” “You’re a very good person, young lady,” Ben said softly. “And an excellent baker.”

******************** CHAPTER FIFTEEN ******************** BRINLEY. I cut all the sandwiches into bite sizes. I woke early to get all the preparation done for Katie's party. I baked pies and made a cake. Her cake is red velvet (Katies Favorite). I covered it with butter creme icing and decorated it with red roses. I made a chicken salad sandwich, Egg salad sandwich, and tuna salad sandwich. I also made some hot wings, veggies, and ranch dip. I wanted to make Katie's party memorable because this was important to her, and I wanted to help make that perfect. She deserves to make these memories something that will last a lifetime.

I whispered as my eyes bore into his. "Whatever smart ass, do you want it or not." Are you kidding? Red velvet cake? Of course I want it. The velvet cake melted on my tongue, sweet, buttery, with a hint of cocoa. My taste buds tinkled as I continued chewing on the cake with my eyes closed, trying not to moan. I felt Jace soft thumb grazed my lips, brushing a crumb off, I licked his finger unknowingly.

No paparazzi, no gluten guilt.” We were barely seated before the owner, a cheerful woman with curly grey hair and frosting smudged on her apron, brought out four little sample plates: red velvet, chocolate truffle, strawberry swirl, and vanilla bean with raspberry center. “Okay,” Lucas said, grabbing a fork with childlike glee, “no judgment if I make inappropriate noises while eating.” I laughed. “As long as you don’t cry over cake, we’re good.” Red velvet was first. Moist, creamy, not too sweet. Then the chocolate truffle—so rich it should’ve come with a warning. Lucas groaned dramatically.

At least he had the decency of doing that, instead of eating directly from it. It was a two-step vanilla and red velvet flavored cake with whipped cream frosting. The sides dripped chocolate mix and the body had sprinkles all over it, with grape and strawberry kissing the top of each flower decoration. “Yummy.” He nodded as he took a bite of the different flavors simultaneously. He took another bite before he dropped the rubber fork on the foil and set it on the mat.

Athena's POV ''The flavour of the cake?'' The baker asks us and I turn my head to look at Alex and he does the same. We both just stare at the cakes in awe. We really don't know which once. After tasting almost all of the cake, I kind of got confused. There's this red velvet cake, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, cheese cake, rainbow cake. ''Um... would you give us a moment?'' I try to smile at the baker but he rolls his eyes before walking away. I breathe out, ''Okay, so, which one?'' I turn to Alex.

He asks with a little smile holding it up before he took a bite, but I just shake my head with a smile walking over to the cutlery draw to pick out a fork. “No thank you, I still have half a cake from Shane to eat.” I smile hoping on the counter with my legs crossed whilst pulling open the box, the half-eaten cake Shane and I devoured during our shared break looked back at me. “Shane knows what my absolute favourite cake is, red velvet.” I say getting a piece on my fork and placing the absolute magnificent slice into my mouth, an hmm erupting from my lips as I took in the taste.

The wedding cake was the hues of soft summer roses, everything from champagne to dusky red.
