“Revenge.” ‎

I glance at the picture that stuck on the note: an ultrasound. My blood ran cold as I realized this was no random act of malice - someone was out for revenge, and I was their target.

That was the plan. Then revenge.

"No need to be afraid. We have MAVIS. MAVIS is great at fighting. I'll send MAVIS to fight them for you!" MAVIS started to wave its jazz hands. "Got a question? Got lots? If something's got ya baffled …" Vincent and Liam were speechless. Vincent swung his chubby hand over. "MAVIS, begin revenge mode!" "Yes, Young Master!" MAVIS did a backflip and landed with one hand on the ground. "Revenge mode, activated. Please specify your target of revenge!" Liam looked at MAVIS with a hopeful glimmer in his eyes. "We are brothers. Whoever bullies you is also bullying me!" Vincent said pridefully as he gave MAVIS a well-pleased pat.

Carl writes again and turn it to me. *Boss, hunt him down and Get revenge for me* I nod. “Yes, I will get revenge for you. But right now, you just stay put. Rest well and let your body heal” I told him. He nods and puts down the note and pen. I turn to Martin. “What is the bad news?”

“You were being deceived for so long. Talking you out of it wouldn't have convinced you so it was good you saw it for yourself.” “What do you want from me?” I asked. “You're the cousin of the man who just left me to die after cheating on me, I know you're not here to offer your sympathy,” I added and his lips curved just slightly to reveal a dangerous smile. “You're smart. I like that. I do want something from you. And it's not difficult. At all.” Ethan said, his eyes fixed on me and I blinked in confusion. “What do you want?” “Revenge.”

The despair in his eyes hardened into cold, calculated ambition as he reached for the business card and picked it up, feeling its weight and promise in his fingers.
