Surprisingly, I don't find the idea disturbing. Feeling boredom as it sets in quickly, I make my way over to the bookshelf. I start to peruse the titles and am shocked at what I find. I see the House of Night Series, The Twilight Series, Forbidden Knowledge, Harry Potter Trilogy, and various books on Military Protocols all with black covers. The books are all in good condition too. Not interested in any of the military books I reach for the first book in the House of Night Series. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.

“So what do you wanna watch? Maybe you head out by midnight.” I licked my lips, watching the way she sipped her wine. “So... if I said I wanted to watch Aliens, would you be upset?” She raised an eyebrow. “No, I got something better for you, Aliens: The Director’s Cut.” I blinked. “Never seen that.” She looked at me like I’d just admitted I never had pizza. “It’s way better. Has a bunch of scenes, the original cut left out and adds so much to Newt’s backstory. Let me put it on.”

Joel was flung into the air and landed hard on the pavement, blood pooling beneath him. Chaos erupted. Esther stopped crying and stared blankly at the scene, as if she hadn’t fully grasped what just happened. The police quickly arrived, sealing off the area and launching an investigation. Tim was taken into custody, and Esther was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, I stood there, watching the scene unfold, feeling like it was all some twisted joke. Eventually, Tim was arrested for leaking corporate secrets and involuntary manslaughter. Esther lost the baby and spiraled into madness after the incident.

The chains around her rattled at her movement, the bars attached to her scales pulled painfully but right now her mind was on one man and one man only. Growling, she barred her teeth at him. Touch her and I'll end your life. Walking towards a small table off to the side, the man ran his hand over a few of the blades. "These are so nice, don't you think?" As if waiting for her to reply, he paused at one of the knives. Its handle was marked in red, the blade curved with a different language written along its length. Smirking, he picked it up. "This blade will be used tomorrow at the Red Moon-." Turning to Aurora, his grip tightened on the sharp metal causing it to slice open his hand.

My heart slammed hard in my chest and I blinked my eyes rapidly. I jumped as my phone vibrated and my eyes widen knowing that they must have heard the sound from my phone. "Shit," I cussed and began to walk fast only for my hair to be pulled back and my back slammed to the wall. I gasped, struggling to get air into my lungs as strong hands wrapped around my neck. Liam scoffed, standing next to James who still had me pinned to the wall. "I should have known it was you, snicking around and trying to find every ones fucking secret." He sneered and I closed my eyes and opened them back.
