Shadow creatures poured through the breach, followed by something that made my soul recoil in terror. A Shadow Lord strode into the chamber, its form shifting between dimensions. Behind it walked a familiar figure that made my heart sink. Lord Ravenclaw, but not as we had last seen him. His body was wreathed in shadow magic, his eyes glowing with borrowed power. "Did you really think it would be that simple?" he asked, his voice layered with unnatural harmonics. "That you could perform your little ritual without interference?" "Ravenclaw," Prince Kael snarled. "You should be dead."

I hadn’t been sure how no one knew which and then how they got away with the things they do. “What’s that mean?” he asked. “Well, some of the whispers I heard call you the Princes of Ravenwood. It just seems like a bit much,” I explained, pointing my chopstick with sashimi on it at him as I talked. Before I could bring the bite to my mouth, he ate it. “Mhm. Clara took it from her, unrolled it, and her face turned white. “Andrew. Elena. You must see this.”

I know Raven would have had a hard time with me gone, since the twins are so young, but I never imagined Tara challenging her. “Tara attacked her?” I swallow the knot building in my throat, as Thane nods. “Yes, and Raven won as usual, she killed Tara, and the Council has been calling her a blood wolf, whatever that means,” Thane answers, making me smile, knowing Raven would have beaten anyone who challenged her. No one truly understands how strong Raven really is, and what she’s capable of, but Osric and I know she isn’t someone to be underestimated nor messed with.

“So, just wearing these makes it impossible for them to find me? No one will pull me into the Dream Realm. Or track me? Is that right? Are you sure?” Raven asked. They’ll be jealous of your power and harm you.” She talked about some imaginary rivals, making me wonder why I even shifted if it was so risky. My life was already a grave mess without this lycan trouble.

At the far end, servants unrolled an enormous scroll and placed it on a stand, the parchment filled with intricate writing and symbols. “This,” Varric said, gesturing to the scroll, “is the Labyrinth Riddle. An ancient puzzle written by the first High Seer of our kind. Solve it, and you will prove not only your wit, but your ability to untangle the threads of fate itself. Fail… and you are unworthy to continue.” A ripple of shock moved through the hall. Serena’s smirk faltered, though she quickly masked it. Varric continued, “You will each be given the riddle. You may work alone, or seek help from those who stand with you. But know this: speed alone will not grant victory. Only truth will.”
