(Tara's POV) The main door creaked when Bree pushed the ajar door. I put down the palette and brush to the table beside me and glanced at her. I pressed my lips, suppressing a smile as I peeked at her. Annika, Ben’s sister, looking after Bree today while I worked, wailed when she came home, realizing my daughter was not with her. I told her she might be on the beach looking for a hundred-eyed cowrie shell, one of the rarest seashells in the world. When I first learned to dive underwater, Ben told me I was lucky to spot this sea jewel.

The warm scent of pine mixed with cinnamon teased my nostrils. "Hmmm, yes." Not yet willing to move and end a rare moment of peace with Max I simply regarded him calmly, drinking in his heat. "Shame. You look cute when you're sleeping." A grin curled his lips. A small flock of butterflies took flight in my stomach. "Come on, I'll drive you home." He finally straightened and offered me his hand. Taking it I allowed him to slowly pull me to my feet, my skin tingling at the extended contact.

The Omega moved closer to the tall purple flowers and he took a breath in when he realized it was covered with honeybees and those clumsy little bumblebees. "Oh, you guys are so cute!"
