It had been a bit but I was finally reading to finish the last book in this fantasy romance series I loved. I hadn’t wanted the story to end so I had put off reading the last book. I loved the romance between the two main characters, a bad-guy fae who turned out to be the good guy all along, and a human girl who finds herself thrown into a world of magic. She rolled expertly to the end of the bed to reach the lamp and turned it off, engulfing the room in darkness. The book she had been reading until just this moment had kept her company the entire day, and had served her well in Mane’s absence. It was an intriguing book that explored the mysteries of intellectual battles between two opposing forces, and she was almost at its end. The both of them began walking to the staircase that led up, to the next floor, where Citadel K was. “So what other differences do you think there are?” Harold who had been studying a small-sized blonde who seemed to be crying in a corner turned to look at her. The student had the same stature as Derek, Harold remembered, but Derek had been a Enchanter. A wizard, precisely. There was no way this weeping student was related to Derek. “I didn't hear what you said,” he said, turning back to look at her. “What other differences do you think there are between the pup of an Alpha and a normal wolf?”

I knew I should move, should find better shelter, should check for injuries. But exhaustion pulled at me like an anchor dragging me down into dark water. "Stop being so lazy, do you remember how long it took us to find a deer to kill last time?"

There will be blood tonight. I looked out my window as the light of the sun was slowly disappearing. It was a lovely sunset, only obscured by my father’s guards walking past. He was seriously trying to keep me in. Suddenly the light in my room cut out. Did he just cut the power to my room? I furrowed my brow walking to look out the window. No, it’s not just my room. I see no lights anywhere in the compound.
