By then, Rogers had already sped off. Mark, meanwhile, waited further down the road with his men, concealed behind a building. His eyes scanned the street for any sign of Rogers and his entourage, his gun poised and ready. His plan was to abduct Rogers once the drug took effect. It was supposed to make him cough violently after a few minutes, before finally succumbing to unconsciousness. But the drug hadn’t started working yet. Rogers remained calm, scrolling through his phone as if nothing were amiss. Unlike Luis, Rogers didn’t have a fleet of cars surrounding him. His guards flanked him in a cross formation, while he remained at the center, unbothered.

"This is Royal Property!" The Rogue didn't drop the gold. He bared his fangs, a low-frequency growl vibrating in his throat. The Captain raised his energy pike. He pulled the trigger. The firing mechanism engaged with a dry, hollow metallic snap. No energy flared. The weapon was dead. Without the central power grid of the Spire to feed the wireless induction, the pike was just a heavy stick. The Rogue snarled. He swung a length of jagged rebar. The impact against the Captain's helmet was a blunt, heavy thud. The officer went down, his knees hitting the grit with a wet crunch.

asked Roger. “Do you know about King… something?” asked Rose. “King?” asked Roger. “Yeah, everyone called him devil boss,” replied Rose. “Oh no! Are you talking about Kingsley Aguilar?” “Yes, him!” said Rose. Her breath grew shaky. “What… what did he do?” Roger gritted his teeth. “No one is allowed to touch you! I will kill him! I will kill him. What did he do?”

I ask hopefully. “He was handsome,” she says after a beat, staring out the window. “Brown hair. Dark eyes.” She pauses. “His friends were, too. All … very good-looking.” My jaw tightens. Brown hair. Dark eyes. It’s not our Enrique. “One guy was tall, smoldering, with black hair, blue eyes,” she says. “He didn’t talk much.” A beat. “Another one looked sort of like a young Chris Evans.” Great, Captain America and his side-kick is after us.

“Yeah, I’ve realised that. What’s the ish then?” Jimmy looked at him for some time as if to say that he was thinking it through. Weighing the pros and coins of his revelation. But eventually, be decided to be forthcoming. “Two days ago,” he started. “I happened to meet a…” He was interrupted by an increase in the pitch of the already existing noise. He alongside his company looked up and saw the host of the get together had emerged. Roger. He said something, making everyone hail him. Everyone resumed with the clinking of their bottles.

Guards stood in tight formation, weapons raised, eyes alert. “There was an incursion,” a captain reported quickly. “Small group. They didn’t push deep. Almost like they wanted to be caught.” My stomach twisted. “How many?” Alpha Ryker asked. “Five,” the captain replied. “Three captured alive. Two dead.” One of the captured rogues was slumped against a tree, wounds severe, breath ragged. His eyes lifted slowly when he saw me step forward. Recognition flickered there. Not surprise. Recognition. I felt Ryan’s hand hover near my arm, protective, but I stepped closer anyway. The rogue’s lips twitched, blood pooling at the corner of his mouth. He was dying. He knew it.

From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself. A rogue tries to flee. Ragnar's scythe spins out of his hand, decapitating him, but he doesn't kill him, I notice, just as someone knocks me down and just like that, I'm carried into the heat of the battle again. Ryker, on the other hand, blurs between wolf and human, leaving dead men in his wake till the last of the rogues stands. "Who sent you?" Ryker asks. I wobble on my feet, completely exhausted but manage to keep the stray wolf firmly in a chokehold.

"What do you mean? King Rico wants me alive? What's the use of being alive and trapped here while my daughter is in danger somewhere out there? He should just let me go. I need to see my daugh…." He was shushed by Rogers who threatened to swipe at him if he utter any word again. A surge of anger coursed through Miller's veins, mingling with the fear that had gripped his heart as he kept mum instantly. He knew his strength doesn't match the powers that Rico and Rogers possess so he couldn't face them and this saddens him. Once outside, Rogers looked back to see parts of his apartment burnt down. By this time, the guard was already quenching the fire with a large quantity of water. He growled

Kaleb is standing on the top of the ring. He is lifting his arms in the air once again and jumps off, landing with his leg squarely across Roger's neck. Roger grabs at his neck in pain and is struggling to breathe. Kaleb lifts Roger off the floor and opens his jaws revealing his large canines and prepares to dig his teeth into Roger's throat, Rogers uses all his strength to push him back and starts swiping his claws at Kaleb, this time his claws scratches his chest causing deep gashes and sending blood spilling onto the white floor. Kaleb starts to swipe back at Roger, drawing more blood. His hits are more powerful than Roger's and he feels every painful strike, sending him to his knees. Rog

I watched as Roger finished his challenge with having victory over his opponent, it’s fast forward to him being asleep in his room then I see a helper on her way to his room with a tray and is stopped by a man who engages her in conversation, he puts one hand around her and whispers in her ear making her blush and look away and he used that moment to sprinkle a powder like substance into Rogers drink, she jokingly pushed him off and he raised his hands in playful surrender and walked back the way he came and she went on her way to knock on Rogers door. The vision fast forwards again and I see Roger and Jani in their car and he’s coughing like crazy while Jani looks panicked, I see them pull
