Rogues lounged in the back with Corin, tossing flasks, trading crude jokes, and barking laughter that echoed through the dark like broken glass. Corin sat stiff, his hands loose but not too loose, his face set in the careful mask he’d been wearing since the camp. He forced himself to chuckle when someone slapped him on the back. He even took the flask when it was shoved into his hands, letting the bitter gin roll down his throat though his stomach turned with every swallow.

I struggle to maintain my blank expression. "Arse? Really?" Anthony says again. This time his lips twitch with a repressed smile. "Don't make me laugh, damn it, I'm trying to be mad at you here" I groan. And then he smiles, a dazzling, full-toothed, all American-boy smile, and I can't help it. I am grinning too. "Just because I have a silly grin on my face doesn't mean I'm abandoning my course so tell me exactly what your problem is so we can fix it" I mutter breathlessly.

He looked at me with a wide grin, it wasn’t warm, it was feral, possessive…cruel. “Oh, I know.”

And before she knew it , she was nodding in agreement at his unreasonable demand . Aiden scrutinized her with an unsettling calm then turned around to look at Griffin once again " leave or you will pay ", he said with a threatening edge in his voice . Griffin looked at them , a calculating expression on his face . Rosalie didn't know what he was thinkinh but after some more pondering , he looked at her .His gaze unsettled her but she still glared at him with a glare of her own , sensing her glare - Griffin smirked and stepped back , then turned around , shifted into a smoky grey wolf and left .

His eyes were yellow and cold, and when he locked eyes with me, he grinned. “Look who’s awake,” he said. The other two turned to face me, their grins matching his. I tried to shrink back, but the ropes held me in place. “Please,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “Please, just let me go.” The big one crouched down in front of me, his grin widening. “Let you go? After all the trouble we went through to catch you?” He reached out, grabbing my chin and forcing me to look at him. “No, sweetheart. You’re not going anywhere.”

Smarluuten said, placing a clawed hand on Rex’s shoulder, grinning with his large maw at Grub, his many teeth showing. “See wonky leg,” Grub said, his mouth splitting into a wide smile, his eyes dazzling brightly, “Scaley teeth gets it, a strong man need fuel for muscles.” “My teeth have no scales,” Smarluuten said, his grin changing to a confused frown, his finger touching his teeth. “He seems to have names invented for everyone,” Rex sighed, dragging his hand over his face, “I don’t know how it's easier than saying a name, but that’s Grub.”

I growl and he grins a stupid, handsome, cocky grin. “Fear, huh?” “Yes, I mean you nearly chewed through my leg once before. Who is to say you won’t try to do it again?” His demeanor changes and his eyes grow dark. “I didn’t almost chew through your leg,” He says, his voice dropping an octave. “Felt like it,” I mutter. “Still feels like it.” His lips twitch and his eyes watch me before he backs up and sighs with displeasure. “We should move if we want to avoid the rogues for now.”

Three old‚ rugged‚ terrifying men with fαces thαt looked like they’d seen αnd cαused wαy too much pαin. “Took you long enough to wαke‚” one of them sαid. He hαd α deep scαr αcross his cheek thαt twisted when he tαlked. His grin mαde my skin crαwl. “Α whole dαmn dαy αnd you didn’t move. We αlmost thought you were deαd.”
