“We have to hurry.” We ran the rest of the way to the cottage, Grace doing her best to keep up despite her condition. The moment we reached the door, I shoved it open, the hinges groaning in protest. Inside, the air was thick with the remnants of powerful magic, the scent of burnt herbs and something acrid hanging in the air. And there she was. Rose lay crumpled on the floor, her skin pale and her breathing shallow. Her fiery red hair was splayed out like a halo, a stark contrast against the dark wood. My heart seized at the sight.

The rare black dragon roses. These are unlike any other roses, black in colour, and twice the size of ordinary roses. They are uniquely found only within the confines of the dark forest's cliff! “Found them!” I cried out, feeling a gush of excitement. “Be careful!” Rey warned from behind. After setting my bag down, I cautiously approached the cliff edge, which was somewhat slick from an unexpected rain shower. I gently positioned myself at the edge, leaning slightly forward, and reached for the plant. A single rose would suffice.

On seeing this rose, I just thought about my past. Time stopped. One day, David gave me a rose plant because he knew how much I loved roses. And then he said: "If I gave you a rose, then it would wither in just 2 or 3 days and I would never want that thing, which is the same as the name of my beautiful sister, to become rotten. That's why I brought the whole plant for you. And I know that you take good care of it. And will never let it wither."

Elisa shrugged as she dragged the bag and set it down next to the wardrobe. “Were you the person who gave me this rose?” Rain nodded her head at the delicate rose that was kept inside of a glass vase with water. The single rose was the only thing in it. Elisa shifted her attention to the flower, started at it for a few seconds before nodding her head in affirmation. She didn’t say a word after that, she just led Rain to the vanity table that was set up for her in the room because she knew that it wasn’t there before.

In minutes we are driving to the top of the hill to a building made of glass and stone overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay beyond. "What is this place?" I ask in wonder as he opens the gate and lets me walk in first. The garden is blooming with beautiful white roses, the same roses he has gifted me since the very beginning. "The roses..." He smiles, rocking back and forth on his feet. "You recognize them?" I lean forward to take a deep inhale of the fragrant blooms. "This is where they all came from, all of the roses you have given me?" His eyes light up as he hears the approval in my voice. "They're so beautiful."

“Is this yours?" The immediate answer came out her mouth when she saw it, "No, why—" She froze, and Chris looked at her, the concern brewing in his eyes. But she couldn’t help but to stare at the gift, knowing exactly what it was. A Resin Rose, wrapped with thorns of grief; exactly like the picture. The moon so delicate, handmade and one of a kind. "Claec…" Her hand cupped the gift, pulling it away from him. Chris stared at her in confusion, his hands feeling empty, "who's that?"
