ROSES ON FIRE

ROSES ON FIRE

The scent of flowers and dirt filled the air. We finally made it to where my grandpa was buried. My mom knelt, running her fingers over the cold stone. The letters carved on it spelled his name, a name I’ve heard a lot but didn’t get until now. I could see tears in her eyes, and I got emotional. Then I saw her placing the fresh roses and taking the old ones. I whispered, as if he could hear me. “Hi, Grandpa. It’s me, your grandson.” It was sad and comforting to know he was down there somewhere. I was like, did he see me? Did he even know how I was here?

FOREVER BOUND IN DARKNESS

FOREVER BOUND IN DARKNESS

It was barely there, just a whisper of the floral sweetness she used to wear, but it was enough to make my chest tighten. I dropped my head into my hands, tears streaming down my face. Vampires didn’t cry often; it wasn’t in our nature. But this pain was too much to contain. My shoulders shook as the sobs overtook me, raw and uncontrollable. The silence around me felt oppressive, like the forest itself was mourning with me. I looked up at the grave again, the black rose I had placed on top of the dirt standing out starkly against the earth. It was the only flower I could find that felt right for her—dark, beautiful, and strong, just like she had been.

The First of Her Kind

The First of Her Kind

he assured her. Amani gave him a warm, grateful smile, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder before stepping into the quiet cemetery. With deliberate care, she laid a single white rose on each grave, honoring those who had perished on that tragic night. As she reached the center of the cemetery, where her parents rested, she had only two roses left. She knelt before the tombstone, gently brushing away the dust that had accumulated over time. The inscription read: Here lies our beloved Alpha and Luna. Their sacrifice will always be remembered. May they rest together in paradise.

I don’t leave reviews often but when I do it is because an author has done an exceptional job at writing a story that draws you in. This story is one of the best I’ve read on this forum from plot to character development, this story although part of a werewolf trope stands out among the rest!
Alice
This is a really beautiful book: very well written with a great plot. The descriptions are intricate & characters complex and loveable. This book deserves to be a paperback! It’s so pleasant to enjoy a gripping story with no grammar or syntactic issues. My favourite book on this platform so far!

Blood and Roses

Blood and Roses

“Sorry, I’m a bit out of it.” She shrugged, and opening the small door in the gate. She had no umbrella with her, I’m guessing she go out in a hurry. Who wouldn’t when their cousin was standing in front of her own home gate, and staring at her house like a psycho? “Don’t apologize. Let’s get you inside before you catch a cold.” I nod, following her through the door. The walkway is just like I remember, on each side are prize winning roses. Of different colors. Huh? When do black roses exist? I took a small detour from following Alexis, bending over a patch of those strange black roses.

Sold To The Alpha

Sold To The Alpha

"Good evening, dear. How can I assist you today?" Magdalena returned the smile and approached the counter. "I'd like to purchase a bouquet of red roses, please. A dozen of them." The florist nodded and began selecting the roses, her hands moving with practiced grace. "Red roses are always a classic choice. Are they for a special occasion?" Magdalena's gaze softened as she thought of her husband and daughter. "Yes, indeed. I'll be placing them on my husband and daughter's graves." The florist paused in her arrangement, her eyes filled with empathy. "I'm so sorry for your loss. These roses will carry your love to them."

From Roses to Ashes

From Roses to Ashes

He stayed in the car and waited. Holding a bouquet of white roses, Daisy slowly walked through rows of gravestones until she stopped in front of the one tucked away in the farthest corner. The stone bore only Dario's name and the years of his birth and death. In the photograph, he had on a black suit. His distinct features were exactly the same as the first time Daisy had met him. She placed the white roses in front of the gravestone and stood there silently for a long time. Finally, she said softly, "When I said I wouldn't forgive you, I meant it. But I don't hate you anymore either. Rest in peace."

I Was Hired To Seduce My Boss

Liam The cemetery is quiet, wrapped in a gray blanket of fog. The headstones rise from the earth like broken teeth, worn smooth by rain and time. I stand before my father's grave, a bouquet of white roses in my hand, the cold seeping through the soles of my shoes. Zoe is beside me, her hand in mine. She does not speak. She does not need to.

Caught in the Crossfire

Caught in the Crossfire

The memory slammed into focus as I glared at those roses. The roses mocked me, their colours as vibrant as a sunrise. I knew Leah loved them, but just like in the memory, I knew Leah was dead. She didn't know about the roses. The roses were for me. I dropped the daisies at Leah's grave and snatched up the flowers, pulling the bouquet to my face and looking for a card. A thorn scraped against my finger, one the florist had missed trimming while making the arrangement.

Heart of a Betrayed Wife

Heart of a Betrayed Wife

Michael’s pov, I placed a beautiful rose flower on the stone grave belonging to my mother. For a place I rarely visited, her stone grave was incredibly clean, and there was a shiny sunflower sitting there, next to mine. I was suspicious of that, but decided to brush it off. Maybe it was a good Samaritan who had cleaned the grave for her, or an old friend whom I had no idea of. Ignoring all that, I fixed my eyes on my mother's picture on the grave.
