Rough Stone Rolling Novels & Stories

I lean closer, squinting at the stone. The crack runs vertically between two blocks. Too straight to be natural. My pulse quickens. “No way…” I press my palm against the stone and push. Nothing. I try again, harder. Still nothing. Then I notice a slight indentation near the bottom edge. A handhold. I wedge my fingers into it and pull. The stone shifts. Just slightly. My eyes widen. “Well, hello.” With a stronger tug, the entire slab grinds inward with a low groaning sound.

I grabbed the blanket and pulled it around me. It was cold in the room, and I could feel the cold in my bones. I looked out the window, to see a blanket of winter caressing everything outside. The building overlooked a beautiful mountainside, with a thick forest as far as the eye could see. There were people walking around in the courtyard below, which was also covered in a thick blanket of snow. There was a huge stone gate surrounding the yards, and a drop down hatch to let people in and out of the courtyard. The sky had a beautiful purple hue, and I could see birds flying in the distance. ‘Purple sky?’ I thought to myself. I turned away from the window, and headed for the entrance to the r

Ethan began pushing against the rock, using all his strength to try and dislodge it. The rock was stubborn, refusing to budge at first. But as the creature neared, its claws scratching against the stone, Ethan felt a surge of adrenaline. With one last thrust, the rock moved, the ground underneath it splitting. Ethan jumped back just as the rock broke free, tumbling down into the chasm below.

He crouched low among the boulders above the path, hands pressing into the cold stone, feeling the faint vibrations of boots and hooves passing below. He worked fast but carefully. One stone loosened another. Pebbles trickled down first, tapping softly against rock—harmless sounds, easy to miss. Then he drove his shoulder into a larger slab wedged precariously at the edge. It resisted for a breath, groaning under the pressure, before giving way. The mountain answered.

She roared furiously and began to beat against it. I didn't give her a chance to see if she could break it. I raced to the boulder that had fallen uselessly on the ground next to a tree. I raised it above my head and hesitated. Would a stone as hard as this break over the rock? It didn't seem likely. I pounded the jewel down on the rock a few times and only managed to break the rock.

Alex walked up to the stones and picked out the three that had caught his eye. One was a larger piece while the other two were smaller. The large one was as big as a bench. While the other two were the sizes of basketballs. Tobias was fairly obsessed with stone gambling. However, as Alex picked out the stones, he shook his head and approached him. “Mr. Rockefeller, these three ores don’t look so good. There’s a low chance that you’d be in the green with these. Why don’t you choose some other ones? I’ve gambled quite a few times, I might be of help.”

' I hopped out of the way and managed to get behind it, I have no forms of weapons on me, so I have to rely on my stealth and speed, I need to get t away from the town, someone could get hurt. I pick up a boulder and wait for it to turn and face me, it takes off to a run and charges at me once more, wait and at the right moment I throw the boulder and it collides with the Rounce, hitting it square in the head, it stumbles and staggers, then shakes it head as though trying to catch itself.

Then the mountain spoke. It wasn't a voice. It was a groan of grinding stone that rattled my teeth. A shockwave tore through the quarry shattering the scaffolding and sending boulders tumbling into the paths. From the depths of the chasm a massive fist made of wood and crystal-veined granite slammed onto the edge of the pit.

The stones were chosen deliberately from river granite, strong enough to endure centuries of weather without cracking. They were never supposed to break. And yet, I stop short, one of the stones is fractured straight down the center. Not shattered. Not split apart. Cracked. A thin, jagged line runs from the top of the stone to its base, like a fault line frozen mid-earthquake. The name carved into it remains intact, but the stone itself looks… strained. Breathing carefully, I step closer, frowning. The air around the stone feels wrong. When I lean in, a faint rush of wind spills out from the crack, brushing my face like a sigh escaping something that’s been sealed too long.

“The Divine Crane?” Master Rocher shouted, “Seems like you’re not entirely ignorant either!” Kayson hastily took a step back. Master Rocher’s feet landed on the ground, and the tiles cracked at the collision. One could see how powerful this kick was based on the fact that the tiles right under his feet had been pulverized.
