Panic gripped my chest, squeezing it tightly, making it feel impossible to expand and fill my lungs. Each inhale was met with a surge of fear, while each exhale felt like a feeble attempt to release the overwhelming pressure building inside me. My heart raced uncontrollably, pounding in my ears like a relentless drumbeat. Its erratic rhythm echoed the chaos that consumed my mind.

My breathing began to betray me first. It came shallow, uneven—each inhale catching halfway down like my lungs had forgotten the sequence. They stopped in front of me, "So, you're awake," They said in an emotionless tone.

Cold sweat beaded on his temples and slid down his forehead. Yoren’s face slowly flushed. Heat surged from his neck to his cheeks and ears. The air around him became unbearably tight.
