She felt open, but none of them were usually beside the pool; that place was meant for her alone.
Instead of going through the door, she climbed out of the window and began walking to the pool on bare feet.
Reaching its side, she dove into its depth, relishing the feeling of the cool liquid against her body.
Then she brought her head out of it, pushing the water down her face.
Her hair clung to her face, and her eyes were rough and itchy.
She began to stroke in the water, going from end to end, giving herself the calm she needed so she could think freely.
