Ryder had a year older brother, Riley Phillips, who also went to Flower Hills Private High School. I had merely met Ryder's brother a few times. He was a senior, while I was a freshman. I knew that he was on the football team and that he was considered a hottie, but that was almost everything I knew about him. I remembered that, unlike his cruel brother, Riley was a nice guy. He even carried me to the nurse's office after Ryder and another of Killian's friends, Sloan, had thrown that bucket of ice cubes over my head.

I smiled to myself. The door opened and Ryder was led in by another guy. "Jax! It's good to see you. I hope you have good news for me " he beamed taking his seat opposite me at the bar. He killed his wife because she saw him when he shot his brother. He even said it without remorse.

I’m Ryder Black!" I didn’t shake his hand, just stared at it coldly. "Ryder? What are you, a motorcyclist or something? Oh wait, I know—you’re a bandit!"

Whenever they lost sight of what they should do, they could always talk to Victor and find ways out of difficult situations.
