All we wanted was to be Jacob and Sadie and be free. I found a woman by the name of Doctor Riley Kim. She is a well-known Psychiatrist here in Baker with a hell of a reputation. She is also very expensive and hard to see. I got an appointment for Sadie and me two weeks after Sadie turns eighteen. We hoped she would work with us once we told her our situation. We needed her to see Sadie as a mentally healthy woman. We needed her to see how wrong Sadies reports were. The only thing we worried about was how the doctor could get ahold of Sadies records without giving our location away. It wasn't going to be easy, but we had to try something.

They both got in and both families were pleased, Jade was already a straight A student and Adrian was a wizard with the computer so all he had to do was work up his grades in other areas and he did well. It was the day before they left for school, their flight would take off the next morning. Shawn nodded, trying not to break eye contact. Jade sighed and looked down at her fingers. “We weren't involved in an accident. We were kidnapped. He was a psychopath. He killed my mother. Gave her cuts all over her body and let her bleed. She died in my arms. Slowly and painfully. I was tortured and... And... R***d. Then I was locked up in that dark place, cold, hungry, and afraid. And every day I prayed for death. But it didn't come. Neither did help.” Jade paused as the words stuck in her throat. The tears were forcing their way down her cheeks as she wiped them off.

The smell of her homemade lasagna hits my nose, making my mouth water. “Oh, hello!” Mom greets, sliding her oven mitts off and taking in the sight of Quinn and I standing side by side. “This is Quinn,” I supply, tossing a thumb in her direction. “Not his girlfriend,” my sister Jade adds. She’s the youngest of the three- fifteen years old and as sassy as they come.

I smirked, got out and rounded the car to open her door for her, my hand extended, ready to take her’s. She slapped it away and scrambled out. Her hands fisted her dress as her eyes fell on the people standing on the porch, ready to welcome her. I guided her slowly towards them, my hand on her waist. And surprisingly, she didn't fight it. “Everyone, I present before you my bride, Jade De Santo. She would be your new mistress, the Mafia Queen. I expect you all to accord her the same respect you give me. It would be better if I pull out your heart from your chest than for you to disrespect her. Is that understood?" I asked calmly, like I didn't just spew out threats.

It didn’t dull the anger, but it helped. I was on my third glass when a familiar voice cut through the noise. “Rhea? No fucking way.” I turned to see Jade Monroe, one of my old casual hookups from before this whole Kai nightmare started. Jade was dressed even wilder than usual, a tiny red metallic top that barely covered her nipples, a black micro skirt that rode up with every step, fishnet stockings, and sky high heels. Her dark hair was wild, makeup bold, and she moved like she owned the entire club.

She is pretty much on her own at this point. “I was talking with a friend that lives in California and he told me that his cousin who works for Jade Tech. He was telling me that his friends boss has been helping someone here Savannah look into their family. I guess they have found out a bunch of deeply buried family secrets. He wasn’t able to tell me much since his friend isn’t one of the people working on this.” Bennet says. “Do you know who the founder of Jade Tech is?” I ask.

She did not want to stoop as low as these people but Javier kept persuading her. “No, I’m not going over there. Zack Dilley’s going to speak ill of me when I’m there. He’s close to Mr. Noe.” “What are you scared of? You said he’s a virtuous man. If you don’t go, it would look like you really have something to hide.
