“What’s the answer?” Nathan asked me, getting impatient. “Chill bro,” Alice told him. “Don’t you have any sense of humour left in your life?” “You’re the last person to talk about humour here, you laugh once in a week.” Nathan told her. We all broke out laughing. I wasn’t laughing at Alice; I was laughing at Nathan. He was being so serious, all for what? Did he think I was going to mention Yoké? “I fell out of a plane and survived!” I announced before Alice could think of a come-back. “Crazy, right?”

“You have called me stupid on multiple occasions, told me I lack brain cells and what else.” “It was all a joke!” Christian defended his actions, but maybe if he never made those jokes in the first place, we wouldn’t have been here. “And I’ve never laughed, not once,” I told him. “Jokes are supposed to be funny.”

“Hey, no brooding. This is an adventure, not a prison sentence. Let me distract you.” She turned to him, her expression wary. “What are you going to do? Tell me one of your terrible jokes?” “You wound me,” he said, clutching his chest dramatically. “But yes. Absolutely.” He cleared his throat, adopting a serious tone. “Why don’t skeletons fight each other?” Riele blinked, momentarily thrown off. “Why?” “Because they don’t have the guts.” The joke was terrible. Absolutely awful. But Riele burst into laughter anyway, the tension in her chest breaking apart with each giggle. Jay grinned, triumphant, as if her joy were his greatest victory.

“Yeah well, my sleeping pattern has been off-balance lately, so it's only natural that my eating habits will change too. And geez, I can't help being hungry all the time.” “I think you should cut back on the food a little. At this rate, you'll end up being the biggest person I know.” He teased, poking her belly. “You're such a dick.” “But you still love this dick.” “Are you serious right now? I shook my head, wiping the corner of my eyes with my ringless finger. “I-I’m sorry,” I say, in between fits, “It's just that this whole thing”, I gesture between the two of us, “is fucking hilarious, don't you think?” The corners of his lips twitch slightly, fighting an annoyed smile “Funny isn't the word I would use to describe your current situation, Solnishko” There's an edge in the way he says those words that cause the laughter to quickly die down on my tongue. What the fuck did he mean by that?

Rohan who had been introduced as Jay's older brother said, then winked at her. "If wishes were horses." Sana said. "And I don't want to be on the same team as you, you disgusting man child." Charlie snapped. "Oh baby, you know you want a piece of this." He leered. "I don't know who's more gross, Warren or you." Sana shuddered. "Hey! What did I do?" Warren protested. "Better check your pocket for used condoms." Charlie laughed, Jay and Sana joining in. It must have been some sort of inside joke, but with how leaky these people's mouths were, I was sure the rest of us will know all about it before the day ended.

Jones burst into laughter, making Logan join involuntarily. “I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't be laughing, but damn! This is funny. You got home and your wife showed you this picture, saying you were with your ex? Wow! Sorry I laughed, continue please. I promise not to laugh again.” Jones was a very simple fellow who laughed even in serious situations. Most times, his laughter held a spell or charm that made it impossible for the victim to get offended. This spell worked again and Noah continued his story. “You haven't stopped laughing at the wrongest times,” Noah complained and sipped his wine.

"Tired? You're never too tired to crack a joke or pull a prank. Something's up." Vihaan chuckled, caught off guard by Sukoon's keen observation. "Alright, you got me. I guess I'm just lost in my thoughts today." Sukoon's eyes softened, concern evident in her expression. "Anything you want to talk about?" Vihaan glanced at Sukoon, appreciating her genuine concern.
