“That’s my question.” The man scoffed, trying to shake off Cardan’s grip and failing. “I was just trying to grab a chic, so why don’t you fuck off?” A slow, dark laugh rumbled out of Cardan’s chest, and the sound sent shivers straight down my spine. It wasn’t amusement. I had stsyed with hhim for a while to be able to differentiate what he intended when he laughed, adn to notice that he laughed more often when he was displeased or angry.

I don't discern why this jerk looks like a calm dick right now and is so unduly optimistic. He is so relaxed and even grinning from ear to ear. It's not his norm to be this bright and all smiles. He is always stone-faced so even a slight grin on his cold face is highly perceivable. This pesky look of his is terrorizing my equilibrium. It's itching my ass and not because I care so much about what has merited him this phenomenal look, although I must admit that I'm kinda itching to know what scheme he pulled that has amassed him this euphoria, but because he doesn't deserve to be happy at all. Not one bit!

’ My voice was flat. A faint, amused smile touched his lips. ‘Is that a hint of jealousy I detect?’ ‘No. That’s a textbook example of sarcasm. Different tonal quality entirely.’ The weird smile stayed on his face. He was looking at me with an expression I couldn’t quite decipher. ‘Why are you grinning like that?’ I asked, suspicious. He just tilted his chin towards my open shopping bag. ‘I didn’t realise those were considered essential driving supplies.’ I looked down. ‘What?’

Yogie said, glaring at Grace sarcastically. "And besides he won because he didn't fight me yet," he said again with one corner of his lips raised showing a scary grin. While Grace kept smiling there without knowing if someone had hate on her. *****

“Don’t get used to it.” Max leaned closer, his eyes narrowing as he studied Adrian. “Why don’t you smile more? Are you one of those grumpy old men in disguise?” I burst out laughing, nearly dropping my cone. “He’s got you pegged, Adrian.” Adrian gave Max a deadpan look. “I’m not old.” “Grumpy, though,” Max said, nodding sagely. “Definitely grumpy,” I agreed, grinning at Adrian’s long-suffering sigh.

I confessed while Miss Soren smirked at her cousin. I turned at him and mouthed 'I love you'. There, I saw his precious smile. "God! You two are so sweet!" Miss Soren squealed which made me turn back to her. I just smiled at her while Gavin sneered at his cousin’s silliness. "Oh, well, congrats! I'm happy for the both of you!" she greeted and pulled us for an embrace. I hugged her back while her cousin stayed still. I just shook my head at his behavior. He is really grumpy. I think that won't change.

"A normal?" As he got beside Fragado, he was told that the being was actually one of them and laughed again. Schnek didn't understand what was going on but since his partner Fragado was snickering, he started to join him and laugh too. The senseless occurrence was too funny for him. ❇❇❇ Now there are two orcs stupidly laughing before her. She slowly stood up and the two huge beings didn't even notice her moving. Gripping tight of her backpack, she cautiously managed to step a few feet back.

Haggard in appearance, his usually knife-shaven jaw sported thick bristles, his usually poised look marred by his messy braid and bloodshot eyes. Rough time? Too bad. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but under her glare, clamped it shut. She felt her arm on her other side lift, and she tilted her view to see Golden Grin holding her by the hand. Almost as ragged in appearance, he flashed her a wan smile that wilted as she blasted him with her gaze.

“You know, you already look like a lunatic, so you doing that just worsens the look on you” “Thank you so much. I didn’t realize,” he responded with a sarcastic smile on his face, then proceeded to give me that subtle eye roll which made me laugh. “Could you relax please?” I chuckled. “And why’s your hair even like that? What happened to you this weekend?”

So when I find an unlocked bedroom with framed photographs, I study each one. A framed black-and-white photograph of a much younger Sorokin is on a dresser. I almost drop the frame when I see his wide smile. He's always sneering or smirking, but this is a genuine smile, and he gazes at the viewer with warmth. His hair was once dark, and I see that he was actually handsome, with a cleft chin in his younger days.
