"After that, you knelt in front of us and swore on your dead parents' names that you would take responsibility for Leah and that you'd protect her and take care of her. "Look at what happened in the end! Your way of taking care of her was to toss her into the sea and leave her to her own devices while you were with another woman!" My heart wrenched with pain when I saw my mother beating her chest. Michael's hands hung loosely by his sides, looking numb. The firm look in his eyes had disappeared. His lips moved as he looked carefully at me, but his eyes flicked away as soon as they met mine. As the silence stretched on, I looked fixedly at him.

I tried again. The claw closed too early and grabbed nothing. A third time, the metal prongs actually closed around the teddy, lifted it halfway, then dropped it again with a soft, mocking thud. Each failure made me mutter under my breath. “I’ve always heard these are hard, but I didn’t think they’d be this hard.” “It’s not hard,” Mister said flatly. “You’re not doing it correctly. Step aside.” I moved. He took my place like the machine had personally challenged him.

"When I first saw you From across the room I could tell you were curious Oh, yeah Oh, I hope you're sure What you're looking for 'Cause I'm not good at making promises" I tried looking away from him but my dumb eyes looked back at him as I started singing the chorus. "But if you like causing troubles up in hotel room And if you like having secrets little rendezvous If you like to so the things you know that we shouldn't do Then baby, I'm perfect Baby, I'm perfect And if you like midnight driving with the windows down And if you like going places we can't even pronounce

I said to him. "You can kill me but one day your secrets are going to be out one day." he said to me. "Yeah, one day but not today." I replied and shape shifted partially. I moved towards him and dug my claws into his heart. "B... Beta Davis." he shrieked out my name and dropped dead.

I should have known Claire wouldn’t let it go. By the time I dragged myself behind the counter the next morning, she was already there waiting for me, leaning against the register with the biggest cat-that-ate-the-canary grin. “Oh, good, you’re here,” she said, sipping her coffee like she was about to deliver world-shaking news. I narrowed my eyes. “What did you do?” She batted her lashes innocently. “Me? Nothing. Well… unless you count saving your love life.”

"What's the matter!? Don't know how to climb!?" She didn't like that. Her nose crinkled, and she let out a snarl. Her tail came to a halt as she extended her claws out, slamming her paws onto the trunk, locking them into the bark. Her glare never left, attempting to intimidate me; the intimidation worked, fear was growing in my chest again. A sharp vibration shot up the tree as she sprang up to the second branch, with ease; the one I had struggled to reach. She let out another deep growl as she lowered her body and took one more massive leap, landing gracefully onto the branch just below me. Her balance was like nothing I had ever seen. Far superior to any type of cat.

" I gave him a cold, silent smile. He really was good at playing the hero. He was acting like this was all thanks to him when that wasn't the case at all. I was the one who led everyone in working day and night, spinning thread, weaving fabric, and selling them all over just to save up enough money. That was how each of us managed to get 30 thousand dollars for those tickets. The only ones who didn't earn their tickets were Byron and Lisa. I had paid for theirs with the money I worked my hands raw to make.

"Say something, Joe!" I had predicted what would happen before I came back. When they all calmed down, I spoke up in a firm tone, "Mom, I've told you many times. I won't make Kathy my Luna. I'll find someone to heal her, but I cannot mark her!" "Hey—" My mother pointed at me, trembling all over. Maybe Katrina’s plan was a good idea. Before I came back home, Katrina and I had talked about this matter. "Hey Joe, why don’t you just pretend to agree to make Katherine your Luna? And then postpone the mating ceremony. At the same time, make every effort to find the best doctor to heal Katherine. Once she gets cured, you can just cancel the ceremony."
