"The Alphas will come for us, and they'll make you pay for what you've done." Marrow laughed. "I'm shaking in my boots," he said. "But until then, you're mine. And I'll do whatever it takes to get what I want." He nodded to one of his pack members, a large and menacing wolf named Scar. "Take her away," he said. "And make sure she's... persuaded to talk."

I saw no reason why I couldn’t. The shirt was already ruined, so I caught one of the torn pieces and pulled it free. The rest followed easily until I tossed what remained of the fabric aside. Scarlett’s eyes widened. Her gaze dropped to my bare chest before quickly returning to my face. “Alpha, that is worse.” I raised an eyebrow. “Why?” “Because now you're not wearing a shirt at all.” I glanced down at my bare chest before looking at her again. “I’m the Alpha. I can walk through my own castle however I please.” I glanced toward the door. “Besides, we’re werewolves, Scarlett. Half the pack has seen each other naked after shifting. No one is going to care.”

Alpha Clawn’s voice sounded like shattered glass being meshed by giant carriage wheels. He was Regan's rival in the world of cruelty and notoriety. As Regan was known as the Dreaded Warlord, he was known as the Scarred Alpha. And that was because he literally had two long red scars that elongated from the underside of his left eye down to his neck. Yes, it couldn't heal because it was said to have been inflicted by a silver weapon laced with wolfsbane. That's two of the werewolves weaknesses combined. Many still wonder where he got the scar and how he survived it.

Nicole starts to pull her hands away from her face, her wounds were starting to heal. It was slow because the wound was inflicted by an Alpha and direct descendants, only damages caused by Alphas and direct descendants can leave scars so devastating. Nicole’s entire body was shaking. Adrenaline and the scent of unadulterated rage filter the vicinity. Her eyes were of a wolf’s, golden and menacing. When she speaks, her voice was shaking from anger, “You bitch…”

But nobody cared to see, nobody paid me any attention. But Alpha Kael wasn't done either. He yanked his pet up by her hair, his hands ripped through her clothes, exposing her bare hips for all to see. I shrunk back instinctively, my hands flying to my mouth. Burned into her skin, was a scar, running from her bellybutton horizontally disappearing at the small of her back, was a cruel and jagged words “ALPHA KAEL PET”. The brand glowed faintly against her old scars. The room gasped, and many chuckled in twisted amusement.

He may not have admitted it a lot to her, but Scarlett was one of the best Alphas that they had ever had since her late great grandfather. Scarlett can simply not die; everything would be thrown into chaos. The secret agenda of the Elders of the Pack would come to the forefront, as each of them would be at each other's throats, fighting ferociously to get the position of Alpha. It would be the equivalent of a genocide; an era of survival of the fittest, where the poor would get crushed and killed under all that power tussle, and only the rich and noble would actually make it with their heads secure on their shoulders. All that was left was me and Malcolm. How dare you? Is it something in your blood that makes you defy for alpha? I said boldly. Malcolm stood tall even when I had used my alpha voice. I'll kill you where you stand! He declared and charged toward me. I quickened my pace and met him in the air. He leaped and tried to scratch my face and I managed to lodge my claws in his neck. He howled in pain and I knew he was never going to heal. An alpha's scar never heals.

That made sense in my book. Alpha Riker stood and removed his shirt, then turned so that his back was facing me. The scars were a horrific sight. Some were redder than others, and all looked like they had healed poorly. The wounds he got in battle should have been healed by his wolf and left little to no scars. Was his wolf weak? Is that why he hadn’t healed properly? Was he even worthy of leading this pack? Did Alpha King Bradford know that Alpha Riker wasn’t worthy of his title?

Mom said, her voice breaking, “I love you. I love you so much. But you have to run now. I promise I’ll find you. I’ll come back for you.” “Mom, please!” I sobbed harder, grabbing onto her like a child. But the sound of wolves approaching grew louder, snarls and the pounding of paws. Mom pushed me hard, her voice rising in desperation. “Run, Cal! RUN!” With a broken heart, I turned and sprinted into the forest. Behind me, I heard the terrible sound of my father’s final cry. I risked one glance back, and what I saw will haunt me forever. Alpha Damon stood beside the car. He yanked Dad out like he was nothing but a rag doll, and then, in a flash of teeth and claws, he tore him apart.
